$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '"')America, you lost," Moussaoui stated, clapping his hands as he left the courtroom. "I won."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

This statement applies just about everything that has happened in the last five years.

-Terrorism? yes
-War? yes
-Civil liberties? yes
-Bush? yes
-oil? yes
-environment? yes
-immigration? yes

I think Moussaoui is just a nutbar wannabe terrorist patsy with a beef against the USA, the trial was a mockery of justice before it even started. Simply amazing how all the mainstream media can talk about are all the things that don't matter while being so quiet about all of the things that do matter, like the real story behind 9/11 and so many other things.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') BBC and Reuters backed survey to coincide with today's conference revealed that the British media was less trusted than the government.

"To say blogs are trusted or mistrusted is a mistake," says Reuters' David Schlesinger. "Some blogs are incredibly well informed and some are insane. Just like the mainstream media, some blogs will accumulate great deal respectibility, others will not. There will be a natural shake-out." We love blogs!

Uh-oh. Bad news for CNN: it has the same level of credibility as Fox News, according to today's trust survey.

I think FOX and CNN had 11% approval and 69% don't think the media is telling both sides of the story. Have a happy World Press Freedom Day

Well, we won't be hearing from him anymore.

I understand France is considering asking for him to serve out his six life sentences in France.

I don't know why.

Lets define our terms

To me 'winning' means America stays a free and open society that protects it's democratic values and freedom of expression

This America can lose it's global dominance, lose it's prosperity, even lose it's economic system and say 'we won'

But Bush doesn't understand this, he thinks winning means retaining America's dominance and power in the world, he care's little for the original intent behind the constitution
Compassionate conservative.. what a crock, he's neither

This kind of America will lose, has lost already. In the face of a changing world instead of trying to recapture what America means he's bit by bit turning it into an empire fighting any force it doesn't like, from terrorists, to geology, science, its own people. In arrogance they think they are supreme and can dictate world events. Wake up America, it isn't working

Power and glory... the same plunder that seduce all nations and lead to their ruin

Why not defeat the terrorists by protectionism, sharing out the remaining oil by quota, missile defense, technology, accepting the fact of a multi-polar world?
No, this is too innovative and pragmatic, too intuitive

High oil prices mean only one thing, poor countries getting poorer and their populations militantly against the US

As I have zero faith at all that Bush knows what America is, then yes they have lost

But in my opinion America lost in the soul seaching 70's when they went for money and materialism, all this goes back to the cold war days, the 60's movement, oil embargo, and the vietnam war

This is what Easy Rider was trying to say... 'we blew it'
As the dream of the 60's fell apart they could see the writing on the wall about 35 years before everyone else
