Its amazing how much politicians are more often looters than statesmen, no?
Yes, we are. As we are.
And so shall we remain; Until the end.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AgentR', 'I')ts amazing how much politicians are more often looters than statesmen, no?

That's why we should be very suspicious of professional politicians of any kind, be they from the "Right" or the "Left".

At the end of the day, most of the top politicians are nothing but selfish pr*cks interested in little more than getting re-elected and taking as much as they can from the public treasury without getting caught.

There are certainly exceptions to the rule (Ron Paul, version 1.0 John McCain, maybe?) but they are increasingly hard to find.

There used to be a lot of politicians that cared about deficits, entitlement reform, cutting taxes, and eliminating the waste, fraud, and abuses that plague the system. What happened to the fiscally responsible Republican Party or their responsible moderate Democrat allies?

Even worse, now that Republicans are finally starting to care about deficits again, Democrats are calling out their hypocrisy.

That's fine but now we have the Democratic solution...Even larger deficits.

God help us.
