Why the world population won’t exceed 11 billion

In part 5 of a 6-part lecture, Hans Rosling uses statistics to give an overview of population growth and an explanation of why the total human population will never reach 11 billion, as others predict and fear.

Death is the only answer. How that death happens is the question. We must get our population down swiftly bellow 3BiL. The target population is 1BIL or less within a generation. This ends up being a situation where on average 200MIL more people die a year than are born. Remember averages means fluctuations.

These are the numbers if you believe society is in a systematic decline with depletion, deflation, decay, and social destruction. I believe we are. I am hoping my viewpoint is wrong. I see no way we can scale a civilization transition to new living arrangements and avoid a paradigm of death. Time has run out making any effort too little to late.

Technology is what got us to this predicament so we can’t count on that. Wisdom is our only hope and I don’t think humans are capable of true wisdom except in small groups. We need global wisdom and this is just not humanly possible. The wisdom I speak of is simple “no”. and “less”. No one wants to hear those words today. Since this appears to be the case we default to lifeboats and hospices. Let’s face death with dignity that is the best it gets.

Well put Davy. We are lemmings running off the cliff.

Rosling omits IQ in his statistics.  The underlying principle of the history of life is evolutionary epistemology — i.e., survival depends on constantly increasing intelligence (ἐπιστήμη = “knowledge, intelligence”) built into the bodies and behaviors of living beings.  Afroids are the least intelligent of the hominid species;  their bell curve is centered on a point greatly inferior to any of the more northerly races.  Their expansion necessarily means that the general IQ of mankind will sink, and the ability to cope with the increasing biospheric problems will diminish.  The logical conclusion is clear, despite Rosling’s love of the Bible.

  4. Apneaman on Wed, 8th Feb 2017 6:43 pm

Douchy, Rosling omitted IQ in his stats, because he did not want to embarrass Americans. They were his best customers. Hopium junkies.

Whites would score higher in overall IQ, if you just left out all the white, mouth breathing, Trump voters…..and clog.

Maybe you and clog can hook up, become study buddies and hope to do better next time?

  5. Cloggie on Wed, 8th Feb 2017 6:43 pm

Rosling is a Swedish leftist (but I repeat myself). He is Davos square two. IQ is a dirty word for him. For him the North exists to wipe the *** of the South.

  6. Davy on Wed, 8th Feb 2017 7:04 pm

The underlying principal of life is not epistemology. Epistemology is proving to be an evolutionary dead end or an extinction trait of humans. Life is ambivalent to this trait. The underlying principal of life is ecosystem bias. Life principals that are prejudice towards ecosystem development represent life for most of life’s journey here on earth. The balancing found in nature allows for evolution and extinction to comingle as a life frequency. Humans are likely part of this balancing phenomenon currently as an extinction species. Until we base our underlying principles of life on nature’s principles we will never break out of our evolutionary end as an extinction species. Increasing intelligence without wisdom is unbalanced. Imbalances inhibit survival. Survival depends first on wisdom to guide intelligence. Intelligence and wisdom are on different levels. One is guided by the other. Intelligence cannot be ahead of wisdom or intelligence breaks down. The fact that wisdom involves saying no means less intelligence points to better survival. Where we have failed is not understanding the wisdom to say no.

Now if one uses vast amounts of non-renewable resources, while not preparing to put anything in its place when its gone AND at the same time plunders, rapes and destroys the renewable resources – all in order to get “developed” countries… – What happens when those two piles of resources are gone to same “developed” countries?

No – the now is not much better than I thought.

I have seen similar ways of living in the “microcosmos” for decades – i.e. obtaining vast amounts of debt because “my house” is always more worth tomorrow – and they ALL turned into shit for those who did not a vast pile of “resources”…

I wouldnt want to be one of them today – not at all. They all face near endless debt until they expire.

Vladimir Putin is currently the #1 statesman in the world; it is too early to judge Trump.

But in Europe the man with the most vision is Viktor Orban, the leader of the bravest people in Europe, the Hungarians. Here he gives his vision for the future of Europe, which unsurprisingly is Gaullist, “Europe of the Fatherlands”:

    http://www.counter-currents.com/2017/02/hungary-the-crisis-of-europe/#more-68948

Orban, who openly challenges the tormentor of the Americans, known as George Soros, represents the future of Europe. US vassal Angela Mürkül represents the past.

Judging from population, natural resources, and human capital, the European Union should be the leading power of the world

Now you’re talking. Orban’s number one concern is that Europe could be overrun by the third world but also states the obvious that it is very easy for Europe to defend itself, using the Mediterranean as a line of defense.

But the cancer in Brussels known as the EU promotes mass migration for the same reason that Washington does it: because they think they can create a meek population that obeys the center.

Hungary single-handedly protected western European countries, all run by US vassals and programmed to destroy their own populations, by building an effective fence and thus halting the mass influx. Current smaller number of invaders only manage to enter Europe via the hazardous route over the Mediterranean via Italy (although they are often picked up by Marxist “humanitarian clubs”, often sponsored by the EU).

Orban is very much aware of the disastrous demographic development. Committing suicide that’s good enough for countries without character, soul, identity and history like Canada, but not for Europe. And perhaps that even parts in the US will manage to draw a line in the sand and develop into a real nation.

In nature there is no moral obligation to commit suicide. If other countries spiral out of control, than that is their problem.

The only way to prevent disaster is for Eurosphere and China to take responsibility for Africa after the end of the American era. Partition Africa and adopt it and actively help develop it in exchange for a birth control program and resources. That program doesn’t need to be subtle: incessant government propaganda + goodies in exchange for sterilization after the second child and out-casting of those who break the rules.

Such an approach if far more “humanitarian” than doing nothing at all.

And invaders who attempt to make it to Europe will be pushed back into Africa by the European navy, just like the Australians already do with their gate-crashers.

The suicide of the 1968-generation in both Europe and the United States is in full swing. It is time to get very tough with the Marxists and push them in the political abyss. Russia and Eastern Europe gave the good example of how to do it.

  15. Davy on Thu, 9th Feb 2017 5:37 am

“The real disconnect is between the beauty and joy that children bring and the resultant destruction that their numbers cause. Normal people will never make that connection.”
We can look at the other disconnect and that is most of us old guys should have died at 40 making room for the beauty and joy that children bring. Many of those children should not be making it. This points to the real disconnect. If humans (most of us old white guys included) do not have the ability to say no to have less then we should be made to by nature. This included affluence and procreation. This is how life functions not old white guys living to 80 and low infant mortality combined with modern civilization of both high population and consumption. Funny, I think this is wht is coming down the pike.

Comparing nations is a red hearing in today’s world. It is intellectual laziness and ripe for agendist finger pointing. We know the world is a large economic system that operates in a global system of comparative advantages. Productive sources that operate with economies of scale supply the global system. Try to dissect that and determine where the most resource intensity is. Is it the car industry or the chemical industry? How do you break that up when most operate transnational? You also have to consider where the most energy intensity is pocketed throughout the world. Large important urban areas the world over are where the most of the energy goes to. Are you going to tell me Shanghai is much different than Chicago? You also have the facts on the ground with industry and consumption. How do you separate a china and the US who have a symbiotic relationship of exporter/importer? They should be treated as a pair. How do you account for excessively large populations and their consumption? Per Capita is not fair when one considers some cultures chose large families and other don’t.

7BIL people cannot be supported by a world population at the lifestyle level of Bangladesh. 7BIL people need a complex global economy with a variety of productive nodes to ensure resources are produced and distributed. Talking about shrinking consumption without also shrinking populations is not taking into account what is needed to supply these huge populations. The mega cities the world over need a global economy to supply the inputs to keep them functioning. The more international a country the more energy intensive is a no brainer. Being more international means more interconnected and more dependent on the rest of the world. These chains become a blur at some point. We know the US and some others are the worst resource users but the subject is much deeper than finger pointing.

It’s all evolutionary kids. The humans mono crop paradise will not be able to evolve quickly enough, if at all, to the rising temps, sea level rise and ever growing levels of precipitation falling on them (rain bombs), plus the new conditions have created new environmental niches for new and old microscopic life to exploit – insects too. The speed of environmental change is unprecedented in the history of life on this planet and speed kills. Human behaviour has done more damage than any asteroid and they did it orders of magnitude faster – 7.5 billion little asteroids and growing. Whatever adapts best and quickest survives if possible. Collectively the humans have done very little to adapt and continue to do all the things that have triggered this unprecedented planetary change. It’s all evolutionary kids

The big melt: Global sea ice at record low

“There is now less sea ice on Earth than at any time on record. Ice in the Arctic and Antarctic melted to record low levels in January, scientists reported this week.

Sea ice is frozen ocean water that melts during the summer and refreezes in winter. It floats on top of the ocean.

Arctic sea ice this January averaged 5.17 million square miles, the lowest for the month in the 38-year sea ice record, the National Snow and Ice Data Center said.

That is 100,000 square miles less than the previous January record low set just last year.”

Yes. Easter Island is/was the Earth in microcosm beginning with a despoiled utopian paradise- rich volcanic soils, moderate temps., abundant rainfall, forests teeming with unique wildlife including the now extinct world’s largest Palm tree at 100 ft. in height and a trunk girth of 6 ft., and surrounded by an ocean brimming with protein.

Then the destroyer of worlds arrived. For a time, the land produced such bounty that plentiful leisure time existed, which enabled the people the ability to carve the ghostly statues that dot the island. Population numbers grew far out of proportion to what was sustainable. Poor farming practices stripped the land of its fertile soil. Countless native flora and fauna were sent into the extinction abyss. What were the people thinking when the LAST tree was cut down. Following this, no longer could the ocean’s bounty be harvested so when Captain Cook arrived at the island he found a small number of filthy, parasite-ridden humans engaged in internecine warfare for the only available source of protein- human corpses.

Welcome to the future folks. Not my scene. Long before life reaches this level of savagery I will have over-dosed on narcotics- sweet dreams. I’m too old, too cynical, and too disgusted with the human species.

Seriously, Friday thinks that he can speak for everybody else. The truth is that Kanada is not as popular as you thinks it is. And you should also remember that people of German descent are still the largest minority in the US, in contrast to Kanada, that British colonial resource, lead by airhead Trudeau… straight into the abyss:

And that is precisely the reason why your country is going down the drain, because it’s “elite’s” doesn’t want Kanada to be a country, where the US has at least a chance to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of exceptionalism, globalism and Zionism, as a proud sovereign country and solid member of the European family of nations, next to France, Germany, Russia and others, in a rapidly darkening world of the 21st century.

Kanada can’t be saved, there are simply too many Friday-style nihilistic neo-Bolsheviks, who can’t carry their own weight, undermining the foundations of that once top of the bill country. You cannot sustain a country with devirilized men, who like hysterical old ladies are standing on a chair screaming “a mouse, a mouse!”, just because they had a 7 inch rain shower somewhere in Farawayistan. An occasional record breaker is NOT the ongoing TOTAL record heat increase for the planet. A hot day 57 years ago was a fluke. Yes, they happened, but not with the increasing frequency of today. Not to mention having a 500 year storm happen every few months.

Sydney Airport reported its warmest February temperature at 109.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous February record was 108.7 degrees in 1980.

The airport in Adelaide, South Australia, had its third day in a row of temperatures above 104 degrees, which is significant since it’s 40 degrees Celsius. Consecutive heat like this hasn’t happened since 1914 in that location — what is usually the colder, southern part of Australia.

Here in Adelaide, South Australia, we reached a relatively mild 34c/94F today. The humidity seems very high for South Australia (which is mormally a very dry heat). Someone had a great link on these forums about the threat of high wet bulb temps on the body. I believe the article discussed the problems in India and China earlier this year during the Northern summer.
The temperature is down to 23c here tomorrow and I must say our heatwaves happen every year and we have had longer spells over 40c in the past.
I have a feeling it could be humidity that is changing. We had a wonderful year of rain in SA though, 850+mm here compared to 550mm normally. Also we have had no bushfires this year due to rain and humidity.

Nationalist, be careful with your words as you are now making some climate Mohamed wannabee from Vancouver very unhappy with this good news. You’re the infidel now.

Denver breaks heat record set in 1951

So when did “Denver” seriously begin recording temperatures in the first place? The stone age? 1492? 1783?

    Nope: after 1870.

Climate Change denial is rampant with the U$MSM propaganda mill in full swing. Picking out a few small incidents in the past and claiming that today’s ever increasing multitude of incidents is just BAU is bullshit.

Ap mentions only a few of the ongoing unusual weather and it’s effects that happen every day. There are many more. I see them in my reading as do some of you. Ignore the warning at your peril. It is too late to do more than make preparations for your self for the events to come.

Is The Netherlands going to be the first Western European domino to fall? Gloomy BBC Newsnight Marxist interviews Geert Wilders:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6z0XZMvdD8

The shabby BBC sucker tries to warn for a revival of 1939. The huge difference between 1939 and now is of course that Russia, Europe and America have a common enemy: the billions of the third world and the rising star China of 1350 million that will soon be the #economic #1 on this planet and begin to threaten the Siberian land mass.

Meanwhile in Germany, Horst Seehofer the leader of the very conservative party CSU and sister party of the CDU, lead and hijacked by Kim Merkel, is sabotaging Merkel wherever he can. He has repeatedly invited EU dissident and Soros opponent Orban to Germany and in March he will yet again visit Putin. Now efforts are underway to organize a meeting with Trump as well. All behind the back of Kim Merkel.

New development: the German socialists manage to hire the EU president of the EU parliament Martin Schulz as their front man for the German elections in the Autumn. And see, in some polls Schulz is even leading:

Perhaps we will get rid of the loyal vassal of the Soros empire Kim Merkel after all. Not that the SPD is any better, but it could be that the establishment could use the occasion of the downfall of Kim Merkel to change course out of fear for the German deplorables.
