A good podcast where Czech explains that steady state doesn’t mean ‘nothing moves’ – all economies undergo some fluctuation but here it’s within the sustainable bounds of eco-systems; talks about how Henry George’s economic theory (his book, Progress and Poverty, 1879) scared the hell out of the Robber Barons as it showed how the trilogy ‘Land, Labor and Capital’ could work in people’s favor. So they eliminated the ‘Land’ component (which includes water and all other surface or underground resources, which George wanted to tax) and brought the all-powerful Market to center stage, etc etc. Worth a listen.
