the exponential growth of technology fuels the exponential use of resources. at this level of use, even renewable resources like ocean fish and water aquifers are running out.

Sandy was a strong storm. It hit at high tide. Had it hit at low tide it would have been much different. High tide was the factor causing most of the destruction. Al gore has not yet revealed to us how carbon emissions cause high tide but I’m sure he is writing something now, no matter how inconvenient it is for him.

Low tide or high, it happened and will happen again and again. Only, each time it will be worse. It could have been a category 5. When the ocean warms a few more degrees, it WILL be a category 5 and it WILL close NYC for good and Washington DC, if we are lucky. All those refineries could have been damaged taking months to repair or to be abandoned as not worth repairs. This storm may be the straw that takes down the US economy so much it is obvious even to the common sheeple.
