Who would want to do such a thing? Well, no one will actually come out and admit to planning a great global human dieoff. But there are some people who are playing with the idea of significantly cutting back on Earth’s solar allotment, in the name of mitigating “climate change.” But since Earth’s climate is always changing no matter what humans do, why would a warmer planet — with longer growing seasons and more food — be worse than a cooling planet, with less food and shorter growing seasons?
One of the backers of the new “geoengineers” is Bill Gates, of Microsoft fame. Mr. Gates feels strongly about “climate change,” strongly enough to help finance a planetary geoengineering scheme to reduce solar input to the planet.
As well as Gates, other wealthy individuals including Sir Richard Branson, tar sands magnate Murray Edwards and the co-founder of Skype, Niklas Zennström, have funded a series of official reports into future use of the technology. Branson, who has frequently called for geoengineering to combat climate change, helped fund the Royal Society’s inquiry into solar radiation management last year through his Carbon War Room charity. It is not known how much he contributed.
Professors David Keith, of Harvard University, and Ken Caldeira of Stanford, are the world’s two leading advocates of major research into geoengineering the upper atmosphere to provide earth with a reflective shield. They have so far received over $4.6m from Gates to run the Fund for Innovative Climate and Energy Research (Ficer). Nearly half Ficer’s money, which comes directly from Gates’s personal funds, has so far been used for their own research, but the rest is disbursed by them to fund the work of other advocates of large-scale interventions.
According to statements of financial interests, Keith receives an undisclosed sum from Bill Gates each year, and is the president and majority owner of the geoengineering company Carbon Engineering, in which both Gates and Edwards have major stakes – believed to be together worth over $10m. _Guardian

Bill Gates is already involved with a super-wealthy cabal of individuals working to limit overpopulation. When combined with his interest in altering the global climate, his concerns over the level of human populations of Earth could well be seen in something other than a completely innocent light.
Do Al Fin analysts think that Gates is intentionally setting the planet Earth onto a path toward a great human dieoff? Of course not. Most of the recipients of Mr. and Mrs. Gates’ charities are entirely uncontroversial and untainted by any quasi-genocidal stain. But a person of Mr. Gates’ stature should be very clear about the causes which he supports, without having to hide behind a faux consensus of phony fantasists such as certain IPCC controlling climate grifters.
It would take a very small ongoing reduction of incoming solar radiation to spin the planet’s climate in a cooling direction. When combined with natural feedbacks and other pertinent factors which climatologists refuse to consider in their expensive models, the downward spin of temperatures could quickly reach the point where growing seasons and food supplies are adversely affected.
A human dieoff from lack of food is probably not something that Mr. Gates or Mr. Branson want to be associated with, after the fact. Certainly either gentleman could certainly afford to live anywhere on the planet they wished. But after the onset of a global ice age, it is unlikely that they could live in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed in the absence of other people. And for people who are even partially responsible for such a massive crime against humanity as the triggering of a great human dieoff by ice age, living among strangers would never be entirely safe.

lol this is an F ing joke. GO ahead, let the liberals waste money and tax the peopl eon this planet into oblivion to solve a made up problem. Unbelievable how stupid some people are.

Stupid like Bill Gates?

Why don’t we take oxygen from the atmosphere and combine it with carbon and then bury it in the ground. We don’t need oxygen anyway.

“why would a warmer planet — with longer growing seasons and more food — be worse than a cooling planet, with less food and shorter growing seasons?”
what, longer growing seasons like the one in texas this past summer? that’s what I thought.
Not that I support climate engineering, intentional or otherwise.

Sounds like someone has been in Grandma’s moonshine again…lol. And $10m per year is pocket change for Gates. We are in the path to a major global climate shift and probably cannot do anything about it at this point. Mother Nature has her own way of getting rid of a species that has over extended it’s resources. It’s called ‘extinction’. What will replace us? You see then everyday in the city. They are called roaches and are about indestructible. Will they ever be intelligent? Nope. Does it matter to Mother Nature? Nope. The earth will go on cycling until the sun burns out in a blaze of glory.

Rapid change of any sort would be very hard on humanity and much of the biosphere. But it would take some pretty fantastic geo-engineering to reverse the “warming” forcing currently underway and replace it by a “cooling” forcing.
I doubt that it would actually succeed and would expect a lot of unintended consequences. But if humanity can do one king of forcing, why not the other?
Better to be conservative and do no forcing, as either is likely to lead to a major dieoff, though a dieoff due to decline of resources is almost certain to come first.

Measure the difference in downwelling long wave radiation on clear nights and measure the humidity. You will find that the higher the humidity the more downwelling long wave radiation.
No computer model needed. Anti science guff merchants however dont seem to know the basics of what they are spouting off about.

Earth 2.0 will be for sure more stable, robust and user friendly.
We all know Bill gates is the guy when it comes to tame complete chaotic systems generated by very bad initial planning.

Anything that retard Gates backs should be immediately discounted and viewed with the greatest skeptiscm. As for Geo-enginerring? Anyone advocateing it is a madman. Thats just another name for what we are doing now-geo-enginerring paid for thanks to General motors and the oilcos of planet Earth. Gates is in good company, Branson is just as bad. Him and his coconut powered 747s idea can go play in traffic.
Gates has zero scientific of technical credibility. His foundation has given money to all sorts of crackpots. Like the so-called ‘Discovery Institute’, a creationist ahem ‘think tank’ based in Seattle that mostly runs around denying evolution. Gates should just stick to buying mosquito nets for the natives in Africa. He wont fix or solve anything with his bandaid solutions there either, but hopefully it will keep him from opening his mouth or wallet when it comes to subjects he clearly does not understand.

Pretty cold in the Ukraine these days and how many have died because of the freezing weather? Maybe the ice age has already been triggered by Americans using 24% of the earths resources. Lets not worry about it though, lets just go shopping. I think I need a new blanket anyway.

I like the first picture, where simply planting trees is conflated with genocide. Smokey Bear was trying to drive us to extinction!

Here are the facts, until and if mortality is vanquished as the human condition we are all going to die. Power hungry types enjoy deluding people into the notion that group death is somehow sexier than individual death. Having been near the precipice between life and death, I can assure you that death is not a team sport.
Weather Shamans were some of the earliest religionists in the world. ALGOR has made quite a scam of things foisting millions off the gullible with sham science and carbon schemes. It is time people of this ilk be identified and required to follow and practice their preaching to others. Sounds authoritarian? There are plenty of leftists that have no problems killing millions in the name of saving the planet. The planet has never really expressed any sentiments or desire to be saved. It was fine before we came along and it will be fine after we are gone.
