The Maine lobster population is booming, but it turns out that’s bad news if you’re a little lobster: “‘We’ve got the lobsters feeding back on themselves just because they’re so abundant,’ said Richard Wahle, a marine sciences professor at the University of Maine, who is supervising the research. ‘It’s never been observed just out in the open like this,’ he said.” Abundance caused by populations of their predators collapsing.

Soylent Green — Over population of any species will lead to measures being taken to come into balance with resources.

To be followed by the story line: ” As food stocks collapse, overpopulated humans resort to cannabalism”

I would take this sort of crap..err crab with a grain of salt. Similar things are being said about the ‘abundant’ salmon stocks, despite the fact the west fishery also collapsed. Claims like this are used to justify restarting continued over-fishing and almost always come from the fishing industry or so-called ‘native’ indians.

Right on Kenz,
For those of us that haven’t seen the movie. From Wikipedia:
“Soylent Green is a 1973 American science fiction film directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Charlton Heston and, in his final film, Edward G. Robinson. The film overlays the police procedural and science fiction genres as it depicts the investigation into the murder of a wealthy businessman in a dystopian future suffering from pollution, overpopulation, depleted resources, poverty, dying oceans, and a hot climate due to the greenhouse effect. Much of the population survives on processed food rations, including “soylent green”.”
Like I have said before, we were taught in high school back in the seventies, about what is happening to the world right now.
The science is not new.
