A new study by UCLA scientists has shown that even brief exposure to ultra-fine particles found near freeways is enough to boost the tissue inflammation that exacerbates asthma. Air pollution particles one-thousandth the width of a human hair incited inflammation deep in the lungs.

But, but, asthma is good for the GDP! Sickness is profitable. So, jog along the expressway everyday and do your share for Wall Street. Keep Capitalism alive by dieing a slow painful death.

These “ultra fine particles” do not end at the edge of freeways. They move throughout the atmosphere, they settle in soils and they contaminate our waterways.
I find it quite amusing how some people react so violently to smokers, when every breath of air that most take in our cities is contaminated with all kinds of toxic crap spewed from their own tailpipes.
