Simplistic prediction. The magnitude of the current societal paradigm and it’s energy consumption is unsustainable and unsubstitutable. He’s leaving out many of the repercussions involved with a diminishing oil supply with regards to western civilization. Twenty years is a very small amount of time for hundreds of millions of people to transition to local farming communities, and much of the arable land in the US has been destroyed through topsoil erosion via petroleum based farming techniques. He also left out the effects of climate change, fiscal collapse, social disorder, and the fragility of the grid on the whole as potential catastrophic occurrences.

Yup. Another simpleminded person who thinks he can predict the future by extrapolating from current trends.

Not to mention the tiny looming problem of water shortages.
