Venezuela says global oil supply exceeds demand by 10 percent

Consumption

Global oil supply of 94 million barrels per day needs to fall by about a tenth if it is to match consumption, Venezuela’s Oil Minister Eulogio Del Pino said on Monday.

Del Pino, whose country is pressing for OPEC and non-OPEC producers to reach a deal to bolster crude prices, said a “fair price” would be around $70 per barrel.

“Global production is at 94 million barrels per day, of which we need to go down 9 million barrels per day to sustain the level of consumption,” he said in an interview with state oil company PDVSA’s internal TV station.

Del Pino is also president of PDVSA.

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro said on Sunday that OPEC and non-OPEC countries were close to reaching a deal to stabilize oil markets.

OPEC members will meet on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum, which groups producers and consumers, in Algeria from Sept. 26 to 28.

Non-OPEC producer Russia is also attending the forum.

When India and China stop filling their reserve buckets, the glut will be more obvious, I think.

  2. Go Speed Racer on Thu, 22nd Sep 2016 7:19 pm

All depends on price. At $2.75 a gallon, definitely some unemployed rednecks have already parked their monster trucks. So it’s not there is an oversupply, more like the high production cost has curtailed demand.

  3. penury on Thu, 22nd Sep 2016 8:22 pm

By golly, I think he’s got it. It has also curtailed demand for other good, resulting in curtailing demand for shipping, trucking and other uses of the oil supply.

  4. rockman on Thu, 22nd Sep 2016 9:16 pm

So if about 10 million are being produced but not sold every day where are the producers hiding that 3.6+ BILLION BBLS PER YEAR? Where are those tanks the oil producers are shipping their oil to? And even better question: why are the oil companies spending a lot of money to produce, transport and store oil instead of just not producing that it?

Wait, what do you mean someone is buying that oil (for whatever their reasons) and sending it to storage? But that’s not what we’re talking about, is it? After all oil that is being bought from the market is not “excess production” if it is being acquired by anyone…oil storer or refinery, right? When the Rockman sells his oil he has no idea where it goes once it leaves his lease. Even more important: he doesn’t price his oil based upon whether it’s going to storage or a refinery.

So the question remains: what companies are producing upwards of 3+ BILLION BBLS OF OIL per year, not selling it and sending it to storage they either rent or paid to build? Because that would be the only oil that’s being produced in excess of consumption, right?

Or is all this bullsh*t put out by Venezuela et al just trying to pretend the supply/demand dynamic modulated by pricing is functioning exactly like it’s suppose to? LOL.

  5. Anonymous on Thu, 22nd Sep 2016 9:38 pm

Or, maybe your masters in the oil cartel\washindum and tel Aviv have been rigging the global price of oil, production statistics (OPEC etc), AND have been consistently lying that something called the ‘free market’ is determining prices? Macro-economic manipulation (aka war by other means) vs Russia, Iran and Venezuela is the current preferred tactic of our masters here in the free-world order.

That there is excess supply and production is not in question of course. How much, precisely, is not an easy thing to measure. I hardly hold it against Venezuela if their numbers are off some….

Chavez and Maduro failed to create a sovereign wealth fund for Venezuela when times were good in the oil biz. Now 15% of Venezuelans have to scavage in the streets in order not to starve.

  8. Anonymous on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 12:31 am

Really moron? You been there, seen it first hand?, talked to any of those 15% you allege are scavenging for survival? Got a source for that assertion?, and by source, I mean a legitimate one, not the Jew York Times or any of the other horeshit amerikant rags whoese every word you treat as gospel.

Maybe you could ship those 15% some of that excess ‘king salmon’ you got up there. You, know…the ‘glut’, remember? I’m sure they’d appreciate the gesture, especially from a well-informed, worldly humanitarian like yourself.

And whilst the people argue over oil price the world collapses slowly around them due to peak oil and climate change.

  12. Cloggie on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 3:46 am

What the good oil minister means to say is that the world produces 10 mbd more than would be required to have a price level acceptable to said oil minister.

Now how many more years do we have to wait for Mother Earth to deplete to the tune that this G*dd*amn peak oil finally kicks in and we are all lining up before petrol stations that can deliver rationed supplies only?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waiting_for_Godot

All dressed up and nowhere to go.

We are now stuck with hardcore peakies like shortonbrains, who are so desperate for their story to materialize (because they have invested years in telling that story to everybody who wanted to hear), that they are now even saying that PO is immanent, because, you see, prices are so low.LOL

Technology is the unexpected decisive factor that beats ASPO2000/Heinberg and there is a lot more to harvest, unfortunately.

Fortunately there is still the Climate Change mantra for the green-leftist doomers to embrace. One way or the other, we are f*. Told ya so.

But the real collapse will come from this corner:

    https://youtu.be/MDzsE5heUuA

Social collapse. America, a country that tries to adhere to first world standards, but can’t, because third worlders are gradually taking over.

But green-lefties don’t want to see that, doesn’t fit their commie worldview.

Alex Jones and Donald Trump have better feelers of what is around the corner than Heinberg, Clinton and Soros.

Climate Change is real. It will be the defining issue of our lives.

All electric vehicles are the future. No emissions.

Batteries, range and charging points get better every year. 90% or more charging is done at home.

Soon all new electric vehicles will come with bigger batteries and a minimum 200 mile range.

The transition to safer, cleaner and cheaper alternative energy sources continues.

Clean energy production with wind and solar.

Clean energy consumption with electric vehicles.

  14. Davy on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 7:16 am

Clog, you could be fair and balanced (I don’t mean Fox news). China and Europe are in the same social collapse just a different variation particular to their systems and geography. The third world is a mess and that mess is widespread no need to elaborate. So why do you pinpoint the social collapse occurring in the US. This is not completely the case either. It is widespread and dispersed in the US. It is systematic and cultural but it is not overwhelming and immediate.

  15. Cloggie on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 7:34 am

@Davy – opening ceremony Olympic winter games in Sarajevo in 1984. See them standing there, all these proud Yugoslavs, gathered in the capital of Bosnia… Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, etc.

6 years later they would being to hack each other to death, with eventually 1% of the population killed.

When in 1985 Gorbachev rose to power, very few expected the Berlin Wall to come down, let alone the USSR to collapse, yet 4-6 years later it happened.

The West is now reaching a similar breaking point as in the East. The leftist western establishment to its horror begins to see that the electorate is starting to revolt against the One World ideology (political correctness = Kosher Sharia) of “its” 1968 establishment.

If Trump is chosen, he will call off globalism, perhaps cancel NATO, as he said he was contemplating and repatriate some of the troops, most likely from Germany first.

China is absolutely not in a similar social mess, its largest cities in the East are 100% Han Chinese. Europe is indeed more similar than the US, but not to the same degree. Eastern Europe is simply 100% white:

  16. Davy on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 7:40 am

I did not say the Chinese or the Europeans were in a similar mess. They are in their own mess. China is losing social control but this is hidden from public view by a repressive system. Vast areas of redundant industrialization is a powder keg of dissent just waiting for a tinder. You are so obsess with race that you are unwilling or unable to see other causes to global social instability. Race is an issue but not “the” issue in the world today.

Rockman is once again, with point, spot on. Unless the crude is spilled and lost, all crude production is bought and sold as finished product. This goofy idea of surplus glut whatever you call it is just that, goofy. If the world is producing, shipping, 93 mil bbls. per day it means that at any given time of said day there has to be upwards of 3 to 4 times 93mil in the system. 93 being extracted/produced. 93 in pipelines and shipping to refinery. 93 mil being refined per day 93 mil out in finished products and 93 mil being burned. Do the math.

  20. rockman on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 3:21 pm

Sissy – “I read somewhere that the Goldilocks’ price (just right), was around $75. Whadda ya tink, Rocker?”

Depends on who is a blonde, doesn’t? LOL. Oil exporters, oil importers, US oil producers, oil consumers, a!t energy investors, oil explorers, etc.

Oil producers have no sweet spot for prices…the higher the better.

    The consumers…the lower the better.

Maybe you’re thinking shale drillers. There is no specific price that shale wells become economic to drill because they are all different. There are shale wells being drilled at today’s prices and shale wells that won’t be drilled with oil at $90/bbl. Same is true for conventional reservoirs.

Do you know about undrilled Eagle Ford acreage in S Texas that Shell paid $1 BILLION just for the drilling rights? And then drilled a lot of very expensive wells and then abandoned the entire project. And did so when oil was well above the $75/bbl Goldilocks price.

Some friendly advice: don’t pay much attention to most “average this or that” numbers anyone throws out. I’m sure you know how to calculate an average: add all the individual components and divide the the total number of components. Unfortunately almost none of all the individual components of most of the metrics tossed around are known to anyone. But folks will make assumptions which are really just GUESSES which are often influenced by individual prejudices.

  21. rockman on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 3:30 pm

Apeman – If you don’t like what dem liberal Yankee Jew boys have to say about conditions in Vz here’s some words from conservative Texas Christians:

    From the Houston Chronicle newspaper:

Close to a million people filled the streets of Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, earlier this month in a massive demonstration against highly unpopular President Nicolás Maduro.

Two days later, Maduro’s car was chased through a working-class neighborhood by a small crowd of people beating pots and pans and shouting insults. Videos of the brief confrontation lit up the internet and the instigators were tossed in jail.

The events illustrated what polls are showing – that public support for Maduro, who succeeded President Hugo Chavez after the socialist leader died of cancer in 2013, has dwindled to about 20 percent. And why not? The economy is wracked by hyper-inflation, the Venezuelan currency is almost worthless and food, medicine and consumer goods are in short supply.

  22. rockman on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 3:51 pm

Dave – “…all crude production is bought and sold as finished product.” Wellll…kinda. I agree with your logic but some oil is going into storage. Not enough to be a deal breaker but it isn’t being refined…yet. But the folks playing the contango angle are still “consuming” that oil but are just delaying its delivery to the refineries while waiting on a higher price to sell.

As I pointed out all of the Rockman’s oil may be going into storage or straight to a refinery. But it doesn’t make a difference…he sells it for the same price. Same as Venezuela and the KSA.

Jews are ALL about money and power and have been since before the time of Christ when they were the money handlers chased out of the temple. Is this a fact or the product of American brainwashing from my youth? Current events say that it is fact.

  26. Cloggie on Fri, 23rd Sep 2016 5:40 pm

“Jews are ALL about money and power”

…and media (admittedly very much related to power), an offspring of the “People of the Book” meme. Their enormous rise to power in the US and USSR during the 20th century would have been impossible without media control (Hollywood, MSM). But unfortunately (for them), these media have been bypassed and neutralized by the internet. The internet has been gaining ground over the last 20 years and the MSM went down during the same period. The Rise of anti-system candidates Ron Paul and Donald Trump would have been impossible without the internet.

Nixon and Billy Graham on Jews and media:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/daily/oct99/nixon6.htm

New Tapes Reveal Depth of Nixon’s Anti-Semitism

Beset by the leak of a top-secret history of the Vietnam War and rising unemployment statistics that were hurting his standing in the polls in summer of 1971, President Richard M. Nixon lashed out repeatedly at “the Jews” he saw at the root of his problems.
“The Jews are all over the government,” Nixon complained to his chief of staff, H.R.

After these remarks, the tribe decided that Nixon needed to be kicked out of office and used the non-event of Watergate to get the job done.

Nixon was the last one with a spine. Reagan was OK but not too bright and on his watch the tribe took over the Reps as well via the neocon vehicle. Bush-I, Clinton, Bush-II and Obama were merely empty suits and so is Hillary. Trump isn’t very educated but is “streetwise” and has instinct, spine and stamina and can play the masses. The best he can accomplish is make peace with Putin, abolish NATO, build a wall and give Europe the time to make it gets rid of the blocking British and set up a European military, that could come in handy after 2020.

Complete baloney. The only ones fighting IS are Assad and Russia, the rest first openly, now covertly supports IS: mainly US, Turkey, KSA, Qatar.

Back to Europe’s Muslim fear. Over 99.9 percent of those 50 million have to be quite peaceful or you would see massive conflict. Seems to me fears of Muslim and Jews is extremely overblown.

That massive conflict is brewing, that’s why right-wing parties grow like wildfire everywhere. Watch what’s happening in Sweden and France: no-go areas for the police: 55 in Sweden (according to the police) and hundreds in France; areas where the police has no longer any authority.

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/09/24/swedish-police-admit-loss-control-55-no-go-areas/

And who is afraid of Jews in Europe? It are the Jews or what’s left of them who flee to Israel from Europe because they no longer are safe here.

In Britain, Holland and elsewhere they no longer teach the holocaust at school, because the Muslim pupils refuse to accept it.lol

    http://forward.com/news/breaking-news/216119/dutch-muslim-students-resist-holocaust-education/

So these Muslims are good for something after all.

I don’t fear these Muslims at all. They will provide a nice opportunity for an armed mega-conflict that will force the Europeans to be strong and finalize the Christian era in European history.

War is coming, on European and American soil; it has been peaceful for too long already. That war will be necessary to end the kosher run West/American empire and the page will turned for a new chapter in European history.

Maybe the question is: How many billionaire Jews does it take to rule the world?

Answer: How many are in positions of power today? 20? 50? 100?

“Eight of the top 10 on the Forbes Israel list of the world’s billionaires are from the United States; the remaining two are Russians. … Oracle CEO Larry Ellison heads a list of 165 Jewish billionaires, Forbes Israel reported.”

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/worlds-jewish-billionaires-worth-combined-812-billion/

    How many influence governments?

Benjamin Netanyahu — Prime Minister of Israel
Henry Kissinger — ‘Ran the US for a while’.
Alan Greenspan – Federal Reserve Board Chairman
    George Soros – Philanthropist
    Robert Rubin – Treasury Secretary
    Rahm Emmanuel – Clinton advisor
Ayn Rand (Alissa Rosenbaum) – Writer, philosopher
Dianne Feinstein – Senator from California
Milton Friedman- Nobel Lauriate in Economics, Founder of Chicago School of Economics
And on and on. Hundreds more on the list.

Percentage is immaterial. It only take one to push the nuclear button somewhere in the world, and Israel supposedly has 200 buttons Nutanyehhoo can push.

    Same story with communism.

“What do you mean, ‘jewish communism’? Of the 10,000 members of the tiny Bolshevik party only 380 were Jews!

Answer: they were all at the top.

Numbers don’t count. What counts is your position in the hierarchy.

7 billion people on earth can be ruled by an elite of a few thousand. Washington/New York is working on it for a century now.

Breitbart & Daily Mail, good sources there clogged brain. Screaming retard alarmists with their hair on fire just like you.

    “Breitbart.com

Breitbart.com is a right-wing news site which operates out of the U.S., London, Cairo, and Jerusalem. Well, we say news, it’s more like the unawanted love child of Fox News and /pol/. “Screaming hateful absurdities” might be more appropriate. It was founded by Andrew Breitbart, whose death launched a bunch of idiot conspiracy theories among people who lost the ability to debate coherently a long time ago.
It is inadvisable to use Breitbart as a source, though it does help when discussing how horrifying Stephen “Lenin” Bannon is.[1] It’s called Breitbart because the name Bannon would be too telling: Bannon, an ex-Goldman guy with Seinfeld money, bought the outlet to push his agenda. There is no doubt that he will be successful — in destroying the Republican Party.
Amazing how a previously right-wing rag which was a notch below WorldNetDaily has become a major news outlet for “socially liberal” Reddit. Breitbart is building an army of unemployed twenty-somethings who will be the future of America. So no, they are not going away soon.”
