The United States will become a net oil and oil product exporter this year thanks to continued growth in production combined with slacker domestic demand, the Energy Information Administration said in its 2020 Annual Energy Outlook.
Oil production, the EIA said, will continue growing until at least 2025, reaching 14 million bpd in just two years, after which it would plateau and stay flat until about 2045. This, however, depends on the developing shale oil deposits with little history of production, the EIA noted, meaning there scant background information about production rates and how long they can be sustained.
One thing that is known, however, is that over time, producers will need to move to less productive areas of the shale patch as the most productive ones get exhausted. This will slow down the growth rate in overall production.
Consumption of oil in the U.S., on the other hand, will decline over the next years and decades. Peak consumption, according to the authority, was hit in the early 2004 and since then demand has been steadily declining.
Unsurprisingly, shale oil will account for the bulk of production in the U.S., with the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and other conventional resources making up less than half of the total in the period to 2050. In fact, in the EIA’s reference case, conventional oil will account for only 30 percent of the total.
Even so, offshore production could hit a record-high 2.4 million bpd by 2026 thanks to new discoveries, the EIA also said. Many of these, the authority noted, were discovered before the 2014 price collapse, but development had to be delayed until prices improved. Now, they may have risen high enough to make these projects economically viable.
Offshore production will continue rising longer than shale oil production, with the peak seen in 2035 and the decline beginning around 2050.

It’s crude AND PRODUCTS. Includes NGLs and merchant refining.
But yeah, we are already a net exporter on a monthly basis since SEP.

“Oil production, the EIA said, will continue growing until at least 2025, reaching 14 million bpd in just two years, after which it would plateau and stay flat until about 2045.”
2045? What a joke. Why not 2450? Or 3450? Depletion never sleeps and doesn’t work that way. There’s no way this unprofitable shale boondoggle will plateau. The speed at which shale wells are depleted is proof enough for that, worthless at a few years.
“Peak consumption, according to the authority, was hit in the early 2004 and since then demand has been steadily declining.”
Yes in the U.S. and maybe Europe, it is still increasing at roughly the same rate globally though. Another lie by omission.
“Unsurprisingly, shale oil will account for the bulk of production in the U.S., with the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and other conventional resources making up less than half of the total in the period to 2050. By 2050, we will producing next to nothing. Our conventional is already shockingly low. I would be shocked if it was 1 million barrels per day by then. I would be shocked it the world didn’t collapse by then too but…
“Now, they may have risen high enough to make these projects economically viable.”
What planet does this person live on? Oil prices are still way too low for these projects.

Nostradamus–
This week:
Production
Crude ——– 13,000
NGPLs ——– 5,022
Ethanol ———–1,098
Refinery Gains — 1,038
Total ———20,158
Product supplied
Motor Gasoline —–8,793
Jet Fuel ——— 1,670
Distillate Fuel Oil —- 3,901
Residual Fuel Oil —– 286
Propane ————– 1,377
Other Oils ——— 3,611
Total ———–19,638
So total crude plus other is greater than product supplied
Looking at exports and imports, exports are bigger than imports.
—— Export Import
Crude 3,509 6,660
NGPLs 5,851 1,847
Total 9,360 8,507
So for this past week, the US was a net exporter. However recall that the US exports a lot of NGPLs which are not good for making gasoline. You need WTI grade crude and heavies to make diesel. Note above that the US imported 6,660 kb/d of crude.
Anonymous on Sat, 1st Feb 2020 7:42 pm
Nostra:
We consume about 16 MM bopd of C&C (crude and lease condensate), in the sense of refinery consumption (not end use consumption). We produce 13 MM. So net imports of C&C to go into the refineries is about 3 MM bopd. (16-3).
Or you can look at the trade: export 6 and import 3. Same number. 6-3 = 3MM bopd net IMPORTS.
It’s not 6 like in your example. But it’s still 3 and IMPORTS.
So how do people talk about net exports? The reason is they are discussing crude AND PRODUCTS exports.
It turns out our refineries make more products than our people consume. Mostly excess diesel (we still import some gasoline, but less than the diesel we export). This is called being a “merchant refiner”.
Yes, to keep all our refineries running, we still need those crude imports. But if you just look at supplying the local consumption of end products, no we don’t.
If you look at the overall crude products net imports, we are net exports of about 3.5 MM bpd of products. This means, after subtracting the 3MM of C&C imports, we are about 0.5 MM net EXPORTERS of “crude AND PRODUCTS”.
There is one final trick. NGLs are considered products. (Because they come from big huge integrated gas plants, sort of like refineries.) Almost all of these are hydrocarbon gases (mostly propane). This is a lesser value product than diesel/gasoline/jet fuel. A little excess propane comes from refineries (i.e. out of the crude), but 90%ish is from natural gas processing plants.
About 1.5 MM bpd of the “and products” net exports are actually propane and butane and ethane.

Work shutdowns continue at several module manufacturers, and production is unlikely to start back up again until well into February. “Everything is on hold until at least next Monday [February 3], and that’s just official Chinese policy,” said Sun. “Many local governments want their laborers to resume work a little later.” Shutdowns through February 9 apply in several provinces with a solar manufacturing footprint including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. Companies including Trina, Hanwha Q Cells, JA Solar and Enphase have manufacturing facilities in those locales, according to a Thursday note published by Roth Capital Partners…“[Southeast Asian] module manufacturers to a large extent rely on Chinese suppliers for things like backsheets, frames, junction boxes,” said Sun. “If there is a long hold on those in China, their module assembly capacity may eventually be affected.” “They may not have enough inventory to carry them through if production is not able to resume in China until early March,” she added. China produces the majority of the global industry’s modules, meaning any potential strain could have impacts farther afield. But any delays will likely take at least six months to reach the U.S., since manufacturers have already shipped most product for 2020 projects. That means developers are unlikely to feel any affect until Q3 or Q4, if at all.”

“The solar powered website goes off-line when the weather is bad – but how often does that happen? For a period of about one year (351 days, from 12 December 2018 to 28 November 2019), we achieved an uptime of 95.26%. This means that we were off-line due to bad weather for 399 hours. If we ignore the last two months, our uptime was 98.2%, with a downtime of only 152 hours. Uptime plummeted to 80% during the last two months, when a software upgrade increased the energy use of the server. This knocked the website off-line for at least a few hours every night. One kilowatt-hour of solar generated electricity can serve almost 50,000 unique visitors Let’s have a look at the electricity used by our web server (the “operational” energy use). We have measurements from the server and from the solar charge controller. Comparing both values reveals the inefficiencies in the system. Over a period of roughly one year (from 3 December 2018 to 24 November 2019), the electricity use of our server was 9.53 kilowatt-hours (kWh). We measured significant losses in the solar PV system due to voltage conversions and charge/discharge losses in the battery. The solar charge controller showed a yearly electricity use of 18.10 kWh, meaning that system efficiency was roughly 50%. During the period under study, the solar powered website received 865,000 unique visitors. Including all energy losses in the solar set-up, electricity use per unique visitor is then 0.021 watt-hour. One kilowatt-hour of solar generated electricity can thus serve almost 50,000 unique visitors, and one watt-hour of electricity can serve roughly 50 unique visitors. This is all renewable energy and as such there are no direct associated carbon emissions.”

Thank YOU Republicans and Donald Trump. Here’s another fine example how the party of God blessed the United States as well as the world.
There is a shit-storm of unimaginable proportions now underway. Not all but a good number of Americans are the most deserving lot for the pain and suffering that will greet them in the not too distant future. They did it to themselves and exported their unique form of pernicious cancer to the rest of the world.
In December, the CDC reported that CWD or Chronic Wasting Disease is spreading “exponentially” among members of the deer family, including white-tailed deer, mule deer, elk and moose. In humans, a prion-related disease is called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a degenerative brain disease that leads to dementia and is ultimately fatal. CJD in humans is similar to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), more commonly known as mad cow disease.
Where do prion diseases originate?
Mad cow disease (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), transmitted by prions, stems from the cost-cutting practice of feeding cows to cows. In that the National Cattlemen’s Association is staunchly Republican, their paid legislators could give a flying fuck for the public good. Republican state and national legislators have quashed all attempts at prohibiting the federal government from instituting laws governing domestic animal feed. Addiitonally. Republicans have passed “ag-gag laws” that prevent whistleblowers from coming forward. Money always TRUMPS all other considerations. This is Republican dogma.
Similarly, CWD has man-made origins.
It is well known that the Trump’s are active proponents and participants in canned hunts of many wildlife species. Sick fucks.
Captive deer operations are a main source of CWD due to their concentration of animals, “communicability window” (from trophy stock trading and escaped animals) and unnatural feed sources. In a four-part expose, the Indiana Star revealed how “the pursuit of deer bred for enormous antlers and shot in hunting pens” on trophy farms is spreading CWD at an alarming rate.
Can you get Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) by eating CWD-infected deer meat?
What do you think? A 2002 Centers for Disease Control study contradicts that claim. The study, “Fatal Degenerative Neurologic Illnesses in Men Who Participated in Wild Game Feasts,” found numerous cases of hunters and/or men who ate venison who had developed CJD.
To “reduce” but by no means eliminate their CWD risk, DNRs warn hunters to wear surgical gloves when cutting up deer and to avoid exposing open cuts or sores on their hands. They tell hunters not to eat a deer’s brain, eyeballs, spinal cord, spleen and lymph nodes. Yet, scientific articles say that muscle, blood, fat and other parts of the animal, including kidneys, pancreas, liver, saliva and antler velvet, also contain prions.
Problem is Prion disease is perhaps the most transmissible pathogen in existence and once it has contaminated an area (soil, plants, animals, water) it’s virtually impossible to erradicate from the natural world. it’s impossible to get rid of them. They aren’t deactivated by cooking, heat, autoclaves, ammonia, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, phenol, lye, formaldehyde or radiation. But here’s something that gets very little attention: Prions also remain in the soil indefinitely. Colorado Division of Wildlife personnel recently found out just how indestructible prions are when they tried to eradicate CWD from a contaminated facility. Staff treated the soil with chlorine, removed the treated soil, then applied another chlorine treatment to the remaining soil and let the facility remain vacant for more than a year.
A year later, the soil still tested positive for the prion disease.
CWD is commonly thought to affect only animals. However, a 2015 study by University of Texas Health Science Center demonstrated that the leaves and roots of grass plants can bind, uptake and transport infectious prions.
Even highly diluted amounts of the infected prion protein were absorbed by the roots and leaves of the grass plants, in as little as two minutes, according to the UT the researchers. When fed to hamsters, the prion-contaminated grass infected the hamsters.
I just hope and pray that those responsible will be the first to suffer the tortures of hell.

Judging by the collapse in Chinese futures and the Offshore Yuan over the past week, China’s key cash equity index – The Shanghai Composite – is set to plunge around 6-8% as the market re-opens for the first time since Lunar New Year (and the coronavorus chaos). China stock futures have tumbled…Which of course will not do for the nation has to maintain the appearance of a minor flesh-wound than a catastrophic coronary. And so, as Bloomberg reports, China unveiled a raft of measures over the weekend to aid companies hit by the coronavirus outbreak and also shore up financial markets. Quarantative easing? The People’s Bank of China announced that the total injection announced was 1.2 trillion yuan, the largest single-day addition of its kind in data going back to 2004. The money will be supplied using reverse repurchase agreements to ensure liquidity is “reasonably ample” during the outbreak, according to the PBOC. The new measures follow the announcement last week that China’s biggest banks will lower interest rates for firms in Hubei, the center of the outbreak.

The delusionaltard has been ‘exceptionally’ busy today with his usual stalking, ID theft, and pricking I see. Even more so than usual.
And why not? It is not as if he has anything better to do with his time. There is no ‘farm’ work for him to attend to. And his surviving captive animals dont seem to require any food or water so, INTERNET TROLL TIME. Thanks for making up fake posts with my name dirtbag. Juan used to be your go-to name for almost 100% of your ID theft. Now, pretty much everyone gets the honor lol. Including people that no longer post here.
wadda dumbass….

Anon, his mental health is getting worse day by day. (Or is it drugs? Or both?) We can only hope for a total meltdown soon. Probably read about him “going postal” someday.
Yes, there was ONE death from the coronavirus here, out of 108,116,615 Filipinos.
On average, ~1,600 Filipinos die every day of other diseases, drugs and accidents.
5.2 deaths per 1,000 people. (2018)
In the US ~7,500 people die every day of the same things.
8.7 deaths per 1,000 people. (2018)
Stats indicate that the Philippines is a better place to live, but then, I already know that.

Mak, it is Juan that is the mental case but you have an affection for him that turns a blind eye to his bad behavior. BTW, I bet that in 3 weeks Manila will be a mess with the virus. You need to be careful Mak. The P’s are a poor third world country.
