Titanic Lifeboat Academy – Navigating a Path to Resliance
Peak Moment 216: Caren Black and Christopher Paddon couldn’t find mentors to teach them self-reliant living when they became aware of peak oil. So they created a homestead and opened their doors to training others. People can take a personalized Lifeboat Course online or in person, where hands-on learning includes food production with domestic animals and gardens, renewable energy, and carpentry skills. “We’re all in this together,” Christopher notes, so the couple educate, volunteer and share to also make their community more resilient.

Too many people and too few resources.
The ever growing human population is coming head to head with the worlds limited resources. This is not sustainable and will not end well for millions, or perhaps billions of people.

I hope the nice people in the picture with these heavenly smiles realize that confronting a hungry mob in a resource starved world with a bouquet of flowers might have worked in the seventies during the Woodstock festival but that in these days it is an outdated survival strategy. I am afraid they confuse ‘self-reliance’ with universal brotherhood, spiritual development and New Age smell of incense.
