The Post Carbon Institute is conducting a worldwide campaign to raise the awareness of peak oil and gas, and the implications for industrial society and the American way of life that is being adopted globally.
The campaign is empowering concerned citizens to organize screenings of the new do*****entary “The END of SUBURBIA: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream” which introduces the concept of peak oil and gas, and the vast implications for industrial society.
With brutal honesty and a touch of irony, The END of SUBURBIA explores the American Way of Life and its prospects as global demand for fossil fuels begins to outstrip supply. By being engaging, indeed amusing in places, The END of SUBURBIA will help to bring the issue to a much wider public.
Our founder Julian Darley says “By being engaging, indeed amusing in places, The END of SUBURBIA will help to bring the issue to a much wider public”.
The purpose of the screening campaign is to empower concerned citizens to expose their communities to peak energy issues through screenings of the new do*****entary The END of SUBURBIA: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream.
This is an experiment to see the extent to which film can be used to raise awareness of acute systemic and social issues. Our hope is that each screening will spawn new screenings as audience members choose to get involved. We welcome your participation.
Would you or your group like to host or help out at a screening? It could be a fundraiser or a quiet night with friends and family learning about energy’s evolving role in our way of life.
