Shocking video of the coming Economic Collapse and the next Great Depression. There have not been so many trouble signs for the global economy in a past few months. Analysts are sounding the alarm about junk bond defaults, the smart money is getting out of stocks at an astounding rate, mortgage rates are absolutely skyrocketing, and Europe is heading to a full blown economic meltdown. Of course expectations that another global economic collapse will happen among the general population are probably low right now, but the reality of the matter is that we are probably closer to a new one erupting than at any point since the last economic collapse and stock market crash in 2008. Since the last financial crisis our long-term debt problems have just continued to grow, and there are many that believe that the next economic crisis will actually be far worse than what we experienced ten years ago.

Bring it on! It is long overdue! If it stops the Us wars of choice, then a crash is well worth the pain for Americans.
The Great Depression lasted 13 years and the stock market didn’t hit bottom until the third year. I think that this one will never end for Americans. If you haven’t prepared for the storm, now might be a good time to do so.

“In Striking Twist, A War Of Words Erupts Between China’s Central Bank And Ministry of Finance”
https://tinyurl.com/ycnktvo8
“Forget the trade war: in China the finger pointing over who is responsible for China’s economic mess has begun. In an unprecedented turn of events, China’s central bank and its Ministry of Finance are having a public feud about the future of the country’s monetary policy. Worse, it comes at a troubling time for a deleveraging (at least until recently) China whose economy has slowed sharply, just saw its biggest default of 2018, and is engaged in a bitter trade – and now currency – war with the US, all of which have sent its stock market into a bear market.”
“Needless to say, it is embarrassing for China – which always seeks to exude an air that everything is under control and any debates only take place behind closed doors – to air this type of dirty laundry out in the public, unlike in the United States, where the President simply tweets out his thoughts on the Forex markets on a daily basis. There is another take: as the Economist observes, “as the dispute breaks into the open it raises another fear—that internal channels have become blocked, at a delicate time.” This is indeed the biggest worry, because if anything, the feud suggests that Chinese decision makers are lashing out only because they have hit a brick wall with conventional policies, and anything that comes next will be purely experimental. As a result, the pre-emptive blame game has already started.”

“Eighteen years after the Afghanistan invasion, Putin is still smiling. With each military failure since, the US became more stupidly belligerent, bearing massive costs in blood and treasure. Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia: talk about letting the enemy defeat itself! And as the US plunged into one inextricable morass after another, it plunged ever deeper into debt….
Russia, meanwhile, has one of the developed world’s lowest debt ratios, stockpiles gold, and is divesting its US debt. It has teamed up with China on the Belt and Road Initiative….
Americans watch an average of five hours of TV a day. Over 60 percent are obese and an opioid epidemic kills tens of thousands. Even mainstream media pundits fret about an impending “civil war,” and for once they might be right. None of this is Putin’s doing, but he’s undoubtedly amused at all this decadence and division.”
Nuff said.

The Ten Signs are ten signs. I think he’s right on that.
There was never a true recovery from the Great Recession. So, what we’re facing now is a collapsing house of cards that was pawned off as recovery.
I agree with those who assert that descent from a higher point is worse than descent from a lower point.
The economy is a mess, from any common sense point of view. I dread it, but I see the handwriting on the wall. There is neither a legal, nor technological, nor political solution to this final reckoning. For every individual, it will be a personal test of wit.

The economy is actually doing quite well at the moment. However, there are storm clouds arising. The restless consumers purchasing power is under pressure as wages have not keep pace with inflation. The corporate tax cut savings has not trickled down. But did anyone really expected them too. Higher oil prices and trade tariffs will indeed lead to higher inflation. Fed interest rate hikes will continue until there is capitulation on risky assets.
Then the shit will hit the fan. Watch out below.

It is a tropical climate so a breechcloth and a straw hat are the only clothes required. You can build a livable shelter out of palm leaves and bamboo. A frequent sight here. Money is rare for those who live in the countryside. Barter is common. The jungle provides all that they or I will really need. Makati1 on Sat, 21st Jul 2018 12:28 am
MM, the “farm” does not need yo be “defended”. We share with our neighbors. It is a permaculture farm, not a conventional field type. No live stock, nor corps that can be taken that do not grow wild all around us. Coconut, papayas, taro, etc. See this list:
“A list of 367 species of edible wild plants (excluding recent introductions and edible fungi), with brief descriptive notes about the plants, their edible parts and their uses.”
No part of the Ps is more than 50 miles from the ocean so fish and other sea food are also available most every where. It is a country of 7,000+ islands.
https://www.cabdirect.org/cabdirect/abstract/19690305506
Not to mention monitor lizards, pythons, etc, that are all edible and are common here. The caretaker killed an 8 foot python last week and the neighbors had a party and ate it. You know zero about the Ps. Your comments only prove your ignorance.

Davy on Sat, 21st Jul 2018 5:45 am
I don’t think imminent collapse is in the cards. I have been reading and studying the idea of this since 2000. In 08 I was on the leading edge of predicting a crisis only to be bitch slapped by the debt fueled central bank recovery I was not able to predict. I am now of the opinion that the death of the economy will be longer term and more localized in the beginning. Failed states and regions will be the prelude. Global civilization is in a downward trajectory but not a dive. It can end quickly but I see so much stored up economic energy and the will to keep the status quo that is unlikely to happen except by black swans and intentional acts like WWIII. I see the trade wars ending after some pain mainly because trade wars in a global economy are only partially effective. They can nudge policy they cannot reshape economies. It is likely too late to change globalism without catastrophic decline so it won’t be changed much. Peak oil is put off a few years and we have renewables to extend an energy transformation in the short term. I see little hope for a 100% renewable transition except in a few select regions and even there they are still dependent on a global world that will likely never transition to renewables. We will not fix the climate and peak everything is happening and never sleeps.
When I first came to this board this attitude of imminent collapse was the primary talk except for a few cornucopians who were normal trounced. We had legitimate arguments for imminent collapse then we do not now. Imminent collapse will always be possible now that the world is so interconnected and overextended into overshoot territory with population and consumption. This is a systematic thing and just the nature of complexity. When you have so much complexity with delocalization of every place on the earth then you have collapse risk. It is here to stay until populations are lowered and fossil fuels are moved away from. Complexity will have to be reduced and our civilization more adapted to planetary cycles of carbon, water, and the web of life. I am of the opinion that is likely not possible mainly because of human behavior and lack of human wisdom. We have no consensus on the problems and no firm direction forward we are a self-organizing human ecosystem that is rudderless. We will go the direction of other civilizations into a bifurcation but there is no historical reference for when. We are in uncharted waters. What is obvious is this world we created cannot continue and all the options I see that could save us incomplete. The worst of the problems is with ourselves. We do not have what it takes to properly deal with what we have created. This is the worst situation not the technology or the predicaments we have created. We are unable and unwilling to change except for some on an individual and local basis. This means the macro human forces that evolve civilization will take us to a collapse sooner or later.
deadly on Sat, 21st Jul 2018 6:04 am
There is always a threat of imminent economic collapse. Always be prepared for doom, you won’t regret the time and effort involved to do so.
Everybody is dumber than a box of rocks. I myself have shit for brains.
Just the way things are in the real world.
John Williams an Englishman developed the concept of peak coal which later led to the term peak oil.
The year was 1789.
230 years of peak coal so far. 146,514 days until the end of coal, 409 years of mineable coal remaining, 630 years for coal to go from peak to an exhausted resource.
Not a long period of time in the timeline of human history.
The number of days of oil is estimated at 16,399. Approximately 45 years to go until the real end of oil.
There is some breathing room, so there is plenty of time to make things better rather than go extinct.
Extinction is for dodos and passenger pigeons.
The human species can’t go extinct, dogs and cats would go nuts.
Who is going to milk the cows and butcher chickens? No people, chickens, hogs, horses, cattle will run pell mell all over the place, it will be chaos, mayhem, an animal farm.
Humans need to be on earth to maintain control of the rest of the crazed animals that act like it is a dog eat dog world.
Crocodiles would eat sharks, it would be an unthinkable life on earth with no humans.
Humans are saviors, unsung heroes, for all of the the kingdoms, animal, plant, humans can save them all. It is just not true that we are destroying the planet. With no humans on earth, the entire planet will collapse. Humans must survive to have dominion over everything so everything doesn’t go to hell in a handbasket.
Stop picking on humans, it is their nature to control everything, owning everything that can be owned is the means of control.
The ‘deep green goal’ of course is to gain control of all of mankind, go hog wild with another holocaust and kill off four or five billion souls. The Mother of All Holocausts will form a Seneca cliff, the die-off will be severe.
The idiots who believe that humans have overpopulated the planet and are in overshoot just have no faith in humanity.
All they want to see is a completion of the goal, the die-off, anthropogenic style.
In other words, mass murder, drinking the kool-aid, keep up with the Joneses and go all Jim Jones, then onto the go all Stephen Paddock routine. More dumbass copycat nonsense from the peanut gallery. The same goes for those who go postal.
Charles Whitman was the original owner of the model to pick off people using some distance for the total surprise attack on defenseless students on a normal day in Texas. They were sitting ducks, piece of cake.
Got to give credit where credit is due.
The die-off will be human caused.
Can’t really prepare for that, you’ll be a victim sooner than later if all hell breaks loose.
Economic collapse will be the least of the worries.
Where will people go to buy beer and groceries?
So you see, economic collapse just won’t happen at all. Nobody wants to run out of beer.

We had a minor “collapse” in my city yesterday. Weird violent front moved through taking down lots of trees and branches, and LOTS of power with it. The next day, and over 40,000 (over 25% of the in-city residents) still without power.
The whole-house generator is doing fantastic. All I have to do is check/add oil every 24 hours, and it’s not even an inconvenience if the power is down for several days.
Yes, it’s not free to have or run it, but it’s worth it when things go south. I can also help out neighbors.
Common sense preparedness (like saving plenty of money for your retirement) would likely be better energy spent than howling about economic doom all the time.
