As long as we continue acting like programmed animals, fooling ourselves by believing we’re doing something meaningful, or that we’re acting any different than primates, or ants really, we’ll continue to screw things up. Most don’t get past, or elevate their thoughts above life’s programming of survival and procreating. Most are just monkeys focused on gadgets and control, but a thoughtful minority demonstrate true grace. Anything beyond food, water, and shelter is a dead end, and living longer lives doesn’t translate to increased happiness or fulfillment.

Triple digit oil prices are our friend…

Yes and No.. If the triple digits happens in good time making a transition possible then Yes. If happening at the end of the extraction curve its just going to starve and push people into poverty. And while the hordes are clammoring for more food, heating and other necessities the opportunity for changeing energy source becomes far more difficult for the politicians and everybody else.

Somebody doing book signings because he’s figured out that $100 oil is not great for the global economy … yawn …

True, globalization is dead and pretends not to notice but were we really waiting for Rubin to discover that?

I say: “Globalization, wake up and die right, god-damn it!” At least then the rest of us might have a fighting chance of getting on with the business of survival without serfdom.

Buy a bicycle…. you will be healthier and reduce your dependence on oil for transportation.

Walking, using a bicycle and mass transit like trolleys should be used for local transportation needs. Cars should only be used for longer distances.

Save energy, save money and be healthier.
