    So? Who cares?

WTI has sold at a discount seemingly forever. If shortsighted, self-serving politics had not stopped the Keystone pipeline the premium for Brent would disappear. The huge reserves of Bakken oil are high quality, sweet crude. If these supplies could be brought to market in a more cost effective manner everyone in the USA would benefit. As it is the only two people benefitting are Warren Buffet and the president of this formally great country of ours.

BS! SOS, the pipeline will not be built. That oil should stay in the ground. I don’t care if that bursts your bubble and you lose your shirt. Too bad. Some things should not be done just because we can. We do not need that oil. We need to conserve and downsize our lifestyles to use less, much much less. And we will. Wait and see.

Was America ‘great’? Powerful, sure, but ‘great’? Late for two world wars, beaten in the 1970s by a tinpot communist army riding bicycles to war. Great nations stand up to fascists first, not two years later (5 years if you include the Spanish civil War).

And great nations put their citizens first, not corporations.

America was never great. We began by killing off the original owners of the country, then for the next 300 years we lived off of war. Now we are a broke group of selfish, immature children upset because the rest of the world has decided we are not the center of their world anymore.
