The recent fossil fuel-funded attacks on wind power in the media make a lot of sense, given what wind energy has begun doing to the fossil fuels.
To understand the impact of wind power on the U.S. electricity supply, it is necessary first to understand transmission and electricity markets.
“That’s because of the interconnected nature of the markets and the way transmission enables generation in one region to replace generation in another region,” said J. Charles Smith, the Executive Director of the Utility Wind Integration Group (UWIG) and a national authority on transmission and power systems.

Wind, solar, geothermal and biofuels all need our support. Our economic security and our national security depend on it.
The big oil lobby cares more about it’s profits than it does about the economic and national consequences of energy shortages.

Tobacco companies were successful lobbying for years against regulation but in the end the science and the truth won out.
The oil companies are spending on their lobbying effort and will be supported by their friends in congress(the party of NO) but in the end sustainable, clean, alternative fuels will win out.
Rather than fight it they should be part of the transition.
The economic cost and national security risks associated with high oil prices and supply shortages are immense.
