China’s UN Ambassador, Tang Guoqiang, ratified Monday an international agreement on a project to build the world’s first fusion reactor, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. Tang submitted a letter signed by President Hu Jintao to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director General Mohamed ElBaradei in Vienna approving China’s involvement in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). The UN agency is overseeing the project, which is expected to commence operation in France in 2018. The participating countries will share the technology and intellectual property of the reactor. China, the EU, India, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the US have to date ratified the project.

Hahaha. And there go some more Walmart dollars. After all, they are getting more than they can spend. Any place is better than watching them become valueless.

Strange, China was already listed as a participant in this essentially globalist effort of solving the energy problem, with Europe doing most of the funding, where results (if any) will be available to all:
“The project is funded and run by seven member entities — the European Union (EU), India, Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the United States. The EU, as host party for the ITER complex, is contributing 45% of the cost, with the other six parties contributing 9% each.”

China has already developed Gen-4 reactor and are actually building 1. Hope they will start using that first.
