The future of oil production calls for changes to be made now

The average price of unleaded gasoline in the United States is expected to peak at $2.35 per gallon in May, as rising crude oil prices push up the cost at the pump. Although oil companies showed record profits in 2004, heating oil prices hit a record of $2.06 per gallon, adding to the already obscene amount that we spend on energy. It is more than a possibility that these high prices are here to stay. In fact, in the course of our lifetimes, we will probably see an unprecedented increase in the cost of gasoline. The fact is that worldwide oil supplies are slowly running out.
