. If alternative energy is such a great investment then how come oil companies aren't jumping on it like flies on sh!t?
Do we know that they aren't?
I personally don't know one way or the other, but I know that almost every industry I have been involved with has maintained some measure of secrecy about some projects until they feel the "time is right."
For years we've heard "urban legends" about oil companies buying up rights to this or that new technology which would limit folks' dependance on oil. *If* that was true, I could see them rolling such things out when they began to lose money because the average man could no longer afford their product.
Also, look at BP (Beyond Petroleum) and Chevron (WillYouJoinUs)...these could be marketing ramp-ups to sell you on the new product.
Of course, all of this is purest conjecture. I have no idea one way or the other, and I'd wager that 99+% of the population also has no idea one way or the other.
