What is tomorrow?

Another day?
The continuation of today?
Less than what it could be?
The day I quit eating unhealthy?
The day I do what I did yesterday?
The future of the present?
The present of the future?
A lie?

Tomorrow is the day we suffer the consequences of today.

Past, present and future coexist within one and other to create the now.
A phenemona that interacts with each other in an organic modus operandi. Conceptions of past, present and future and the conjugative complexities they possess, help us understand the past through nostalgia, melancholy, reminiscence which in due form correspond to the conception and perception of what the future may bring (tomorrow).

Tomorrow is a good place to bury the past.

Good one!

Ok, now for an honest answer, although not as funny as his.

This is the way I look at it. Tomorrow (future) is only what our mind imagines concerning what "might" happen, or what "should" happen, or what we may feel we "wish" to happen. It's only in our minds, and doesn't exist outside it. Same way for the past, except there we too often try to use what happened before to predict what will happen later. This is a mistake simply because the occurrences of the past are in no way an accurate prediction of the future. Tomorrow is only a dream or wish. Yesterday is water under the bridge. I try to learn from yesterday's mistakes, hope for the best in the future, but think and act in the here and now. I think the here and now is all we really have. The past is memory stored and the future is a wish. I like your posts, they are thought provoking if nothing else. They keep us in the here and now.

tomoorow is washington journal on c-span , followed by two hours of ER reruns , followed by the beginning of democracy now (and possibly more than just the beginning depending on who the guest and or subject is), then it's either out to work if there's a job lined up or feed the animals if it's an "early" day for the wife and she didn't have time to do it, or internet for at least an hour, then maybe cut wood or prep the garden, maybe shoot the calf with the paintball gun if she's out of the pasture again. who knows? I pretty much make every day up as I go along.

Tomorrow is doing what you did yesterday all over again so you can continue to 'earn a living' and consume junk if you have any money left over unless it's the weekend and you get to choose to do something different.

Tomorrow is sorrow
An oil field empty and hollow
The daystar will gleam on the metal skelatons
The people will starve and death will follow

The cities once bright will turn to dark towers
The memories we had will vanish like our imaginable powers
Many will grieve many will mourn
The insanity of hope will be lashed with thorns

Tomorrow will be my fourth day in a row without tobacco. Withdrawal sucks, but since I'm on the patch, the brunt of that particular anguish remains be confronted :(

Congratulatons nemo, if the patch doesn't work try chantix, it worked for my boyfriend. It works by blocking nicotine recepters in the brain and releasing dopamine like nicotine does. Jboogy I love writing dark poetry. Look out for a poem I will post soon and give me some feedback.

Just pretend the oil ran out and there are no stores, better to go through it now than suffer then when you have things to do.

Drink no coffee.
No pop or caffiene drinks.
No ice tea.
No chocolate.

These things make you want to smoke.
Drink lots of water, 2 liters a day and gets lots of sleep.

It gets only better each day.

I have to thank you for that excellent piece of advice grabby. I wish I had followed it.
The patch felt like a cop-out, so I went cold turkey instead - that included all caffeine as well. I spent the next three days in a foetal position moaning about my aching balls and general feeling of discomfort. Mentally I did great until tonight. My body is actually starting functioning at a level approaching normal. A wonderful Sunday dinner with family was rounded off with a small espresso plus some chocolate ice cream (damn you, peer pressure!). Now I'm sitting here, chewing carrots, fighting The Urge. This too shall pass, but there won't be any stimulants for me in a good while I'm afraid.

And yeah, disaster preparedness is a motivating factor in my giving up tobacco. I'd hate to go through a phase of several days as a semi-cripple with tunnel vision and no concentration skills while having to cope with anything important going down simultaneously.

Tomorrow will be the beginning of a long life completely free of withdrawal-induced testicle pain, or so I dearly hope.
