Yep , that's spot on ,
during the great depression , while most places were deep in misery , Kansas City economy boomed !!??
and it became one of the creative hot spot for jazz ,
It's not difficult to predict nonetheless that mega-cities will have a hard times ,
their very existence postulate a high energy level .
typical of the American attitude of rugged individualism , there is a focus on individual fate
but as Aristotle wrote Man is a political animal ,
an individual survival strategy can only be viable if a functional society exist around it .
The strongest and simplest form is the extended family clan ,
Its internal bonding is bullet proof
....like in Afghanistan
