I am curious as to why you want to do this as well. This would probably not work well in high winds. You would need a blimp hangar for that. Maybe if you rent out space in Washington state somewhere.

I think the neighborhood kids would be tempted to take pot shots at it too, so that’s bad. I know if I were still 13, I’d be tempted. God I was a rotten kid.

Also, I don’t really think that hydrogen is a viable fuel because of the energy intensive nature of its production. Hydrogen production requires about 4Wh per liter at STP. Hydroven only contains 2.7 Wh of energy per liter at STP Take a look at how much hydrogen you can reasonably make in a given amount of time and then look at how much work you can do with that hydrogen. This calculation will not work our well.
So that’s the bad news. However, if you are just using this as a hydrogen storage unit, then I guess it does negate the use of a high pressure compressor, or a refrigeration unit, or a hydride storage tank of some kind. With this, you can just let the hydrogen waft up to the balloon as its being produced. Of course, you’ll have to pump it back down if you want to burn it or use it in a fuel cell.
This is definitely a wacky idea
