Hi at all.
I have realized this little idea about a (parked) blimp: http://www.anzwers.org/free/energy1/Blimp/


It doesn't occupy space!
When it's parked it has to be practically a freght elevator!
It can turn and voyage if all materials rest upon the ropes...
Helium is there because of security...

Is it realizable?

It would be a special hydrogen truck!

what would contain all that helium and hydrogen? where would you get it from? If I recall, hydrogen and helium are very hard to store, so it would just leak out slowly causing your blimp to fall from the sky.. How would you get the hydrogen back out of the blimp to use? It seems like an awful waste of energy to me just to have goods floating in the air (unless you were thinking of using it as transportation which would be even more insane). Just seems crazy if you ask me!

It appears you are describing a balloon. Blimps (and metal framed dirigibles, Hindenburg, Macon, Akron, Los Angeles from the 30's) were/are slightly heavier than air.

They are actually flying when they are in the air, above the ground. Without forward propulsion they would fall and settle back to earth.

Like someone said, where will we get helium and hydrogen without abandunt energy? We might have hot air balloons using wood or other materials to burn. This technology is nothing new and if we return to the 1880s we will still get to enjoy hot air balloons.

I am curious as to why you want to do this as well. This would probably not work well in high winds. You would need a blimp hangar for that. Maybe if you rent out space in Washington state somewhere. I think the neighborhood kids would be tempted to take pot shots at it too, so that’s bad. I know if I were still 13, I’d be tempted. God I was a rotten kid. Also, I don’t really think that hydrogen is a viable fuel because of the energy intensive nature of its production. Hydrogen production requires about 4Wh per liter at STP. Hydroven only contains 2.7 Wh of energy per liter at STP Take a look at how much hydrogen you can reasonably make in a given amount of time and then look at how much work you can do with that hydrogen. This calculation will not work our well.

So that’s the bad news. However, if you are just using this as a hydrogen storage unit, then I guess it does negate the use of a high pressure compressor, or a refrigeration unit, or a hydride storage tank of some kind. With this, you can just let the hydrogen waft up to the balloon as its being produced. Of course, you’ll have to pump it back down if you want to burn it or use it in a fuel cell.

This is definitely a wacky idea
