I beleave in a much better health plan and cheaper cost but our current government can not run it properly and it will cost jobs, jail time for not paying is stupid, it will only work right thru higher tax's and that in it self is not good, however the current way of health cost now is also wrong.

I guess time will tell how this will work but I do beleave the jail time for not paying will stop and mandatory higher tax's will happen.. [ not enough jail spaces and cost will be to high to keep non payers in jail ]

This will have so many unforeseen consequences there is no way to know how it will affect events.

As a guess though, I think it will accelerate the destruction of the dollar (as more dollars will be created to pay for this). That will accelerate the overall crash of the world economy and the beginning of dieoff. I can only view THAT as good, since the sooner dieoff begins, the fewer people will die.

Admittedly, the difference between 4.5 billion people dying off and 4.7 billion isn't going to look that big from a distance. It will make a difference for those people who have one less kid that dies.

That my view from doomer land, anyway.

Let me rephrase my post, most parts are good, lower cost and health care for all is great, most other stuff is wrong.

However as I said above its totally at the wrong time and it will fail and end up costing this government billions more and tax's will increase to keep billions flowing to the pharmaceutical & medical company executives..

Affordable, high quality, and universal access. Generally you get to pick two if you're lucky, one if you're not.

This bill is expensive and the true cost of the plan is likely to be much higher than is currently projected.

Moreover, there is little guarantee that health care quality will improve for anyone.

To make matters worse, this bill doesn't provide true universal access. Even if all goes according to plan, tens of millions of people will still lack insurance.

Congress attempted to have it all and now we are left with nothing.

I lived in Europe for 11 years where there was socialized medicine. It worked very well, IMO. I have nothing against health care reform in this country, we need it. My issue with this legislation is that "reform" only served to take money from citizens and pay it towards doctors in the form of obligatory taxes. It does nothing to reduce out-of-control health care costs, which is what we really need.

This bill has done nothing to reform the system. It only serves to further steal from citizens to prop up a broken system and guarantee that a small segment of society is enriched.
