Bet On America?

Some interesting facts about America related here:
Energy Resources
By Austin Chronicle's Bill Moyers

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'N')o concept lies more firmly embedded in our national character than the notion
that the USA is "No. 1," "the greatest." Our broadcast media are, in essence,
continuous advertisements for the brand name "America Is No. 1." Any office
seeker saying otherwise would be committing political suicide. In fact, anyone
saying otherwise will be labeled "un-American." We're an "empire," ain't we?
Sure we are. An empire without a manufacturing base. An empire that must borrow
$2 billion a day from its competitors in order to function. Yet the delusion is
ineradicable. We're No. 1. Well...this is the country you really live in:

The United States is 49th in the world in literacy (the New York Times, Dec. 12,
2004).

The United States ranked 28th out of 40 countries in mathematical literacy (NYT,
Dec. 12, 2004).

Twenty percent of Americans think the sun orbits the earth. Seventeen percent
believe the earth revolves around the sun once a day (The Week, Jan. 7, 2005).

Much more at article...
There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.

America has been intentionally dumbed down and sold out and if these people were that smart they would report these facts instead.
It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

America is the Greatest Debtor nation on earth
and that's no lie! USA Debtor No 1.

As debt goes ....
America is Greatest is Number 1

At last count, the United States owes the rest of the world over two trillion dollars. That’s two thousand billion dollars, a lot of money even for the late Senator Everett Dirksen. As recently as the 1970’s, America was the major creditor nation, lending money overseas and investing its dollars abroad. We were exporting food, airplanes, technology and even consumer goods. In those days, the total of all imports to and exports from the US to the rest of the world amounted to slightly less than 12% of its GDP. And almost half of that was trade between the US and Canada and Mexico.

"The United States has gone from being the greatest creditor nation in the world to being the greatest debtor nation. The United States now has a larger debt than the combined debt of all the developing nations. Japan is now the greatest creditor nation of the world. So you have the financial ability to alleviate suffering that might be caused by war. This is the area that I think Japan can be most helpful in the future." - Jimmy Carter 12th April 1991

Seems a lot of these categories are selected to downplay America. Sure, low debt, medical care, education are nice to have. But, what about trucks? In how many countries can your regular Joe buy (or at least borrow, with zero down) a big ass truck like this:

Not France, that is for sure!
