Oil/Economy

Unread postby abben » Fri 26 Nov 2004, 22:26:30

Is there a list of past U.S. (or World) oil shortages/crises, and their corresponding effects on the economy?

Example:
1973: "Oil Shock" - Opec enacts oil embargo against United States, Western Europe, and Japan. Value of the dollar falls 8% in relation to value of gold, price of oil barrels quadruple, NYSE shares lose $97 billion in six weeks.

Wikipedia on 1973 oil crisis

Hi abben,

Go to the bottom of the Wikipedia page for links to the 1979, 1990, and 2004 crises. Then come back here and discuss or ask questions about any of them, their differences and similarities, etc.

Welcome to the forum!
