Thought I would give everyone a heads up about a documentary PBS is showing that looks pretty interesting, especially for those who are looking to become self-sufficient.
This guy named Dick Proenneke moved to Twin Lakes, AK in the spring of 1968 and lived there all alone in a cabin he built for the next 30 years, growing his own vegetables and harvesting his own meat. He documented this experience using a tape recorder & super-8 movie camera.
The next time that it's on KTEH in the SF Bay Area is March 19th, at 11:30pm Pacific Time. You might want to check your local listings to see when it will be on in your area. They'll probably be running repeats too.
