Online Mini Series (Doomer Porn) - AFTERWORLD

Unread postby kingmza » Wed 03 Oct 2007, 14:50:49

About an incident called "The Fall" where suddenly all technology is rendered useless and the majority of the population has vanished from thin air.

Broken up into 130+ parts, 3 minutes long each mini episode. Computer animated. Check it out.

New episodes every day Monday-Friday.

I wish you would drop these cliched terms like "doomer porn" and such like. If this item is of the calibre of porn in terms of viewing value, then why the heck are you wasting energy and your time watching it.

I agree with americandream. "Doomer porn," except when used with obviously humorous intent, disparages and belittles subjects that are in fact of ultimate importance.

I agree with Heineken. The use of the term “Doomer Porn”, on this site is usually used as an Ad Hominem attack (“to accuse the man”: marked by or being an attack on an opponent’s character rather than by an answer to the contentions made) . Matthew Savinar, the guy who woke me up from my sleep on this subject is frequently dismissed on this blog with this term. I’m glad he scares people.

The label “Cornucopian” is another just like it at the other extreme. I’ve seen possibly viable suggestions to deal with the extreme crisis ahead savagely attacked with this dismissive. Sometimes made me wonder why the individual attacking just didn’t put a gun in their mouth now and be done with it.

Good point. I'm guilty of that, as my earlier post so baldly demonstrates.

Labels are always dangerous, and none of us are free of them.

However, in the end, it won't matter what we believe. That is my unshakeable belief.

I don't necessarily agree.

Porn, so long as it's made with consenting adults, is a good thing. And I say this as someone who has never had any interest in the stuff, as in, it just never appealed to me. But anything that encourages masturbation is also preventing needless pregnancies and thus is a form of birth control, which is an essential in this day & age.

And anything that disconnects sex from reproduction, whether it's sex for one, or sex for two, or sex for three or four in a zoo, is also a good thing by way of helping cure the disease of puritanism which is otherwise pandemic in the US.

The purpose of porn is visceral enjoyment. Nothing wrong with that, and everything right with it compared to conspicuous consumption.

And I have no trouble with the label "doomer" either. If someone wants to sling it as an ad-hominem, all the better to enable unpacking their assumptions in a way that might just open their minds a little or win a debate.

Hey mza, any place I can watch every episode back to back, movie style, instead of having to load one at a time?

Unfortunately Narz, no. You have to load each individually with the tedious opening every time.

I also would like to add that I agree with Americandream SilentTodd heineken and gg3.

If you have Itunes you can download 30 minutes episodes as video podcast. No more annoying 3 minutes episodes.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

As for now though, I already watched all 40 episodes last night (I couldn't sleep). :-D
