What Myers Briggs Personality Type are you?

Many of us often wonder what it is about us that make us "get" Peak Oil, when so many others don't believe Peak Oil will ever happen, or create any serious problems when it does occur. We've all heard the long list of excuses. "There is plenty of oil left to discover." "Technology will save us." "It wont happen in my lifetime." "It's all a lie so oil companies can make more money!" etc. etc.

One thing that has come up and seems to set us apart from everyone else is our Myers Briggs personality type. INTJ's and INTP's collectively only comprise about 3-5% of the total population, but when this topic has come up before on this site and others, 70-80% of Peak Oil believers fall into either one of those categorys. I think it's high time for an official poll. So, what Myers Briggs personality type are you?

Please feel free to add more links to further descriptions of Myers Briggs types. The website I originally used was much better to the one I've linked to here, but the first one is now dead.

I'm an ISFJ, or iSfJ, as one analyst put it. DEFINITELY a peak oiler! I'm not sure, but I think when I tested for this back in the 80s, one of those letters was different, but I can't remember which. ALWAYS been an "I," though! :lol:

How do the percentages work - I was only 1 % introvert - does that mean I'm nearly an extrovert? And hubby was only 4% extrovert so so does that mean he's nearly an introvert?

While I have an alternate "meditative" state of consciousness that puts me into INFP mode when appropriate, my normal day-to-day personality has typically been INTJ (the last time I took the test the numbers were 22 77 77 22). So the "N" is the one letter for me that's consistantly very strong no matter what mode I'm operating in. And yes, I'm a Peaker.

I find that the I/E, T/F, and P/J letters are actually quite easy to control depending on the situation; once you've gained a good grip on your core identity it's amazing how tangential those things are and how easily those aspects of your psyche can be changed to fit your needs. But the N/S letter is a wholly different breed; I don't know how to be an S if I tried, and S people are generally the type of people I have the hardest time getting along with. To me it's almost like the other three letters are learned traits, whereas the capacity for intuition is wired in (or if it's not, then learning to be an N at least seems to be quite difficult).
