I see plenty of "warm" cities in the "fattest" list. I wouldn't call Seattle "warm".

We win!!!

oh... never mind.

It would be interesting to see where the surveyed Houstonians are originally from.

Lots of "out of towner's" here in Houston; many from Philadelphia, Detroit, Memphis, Chicago, and other northern cities attracted by the friendly climate and employment.

hmmmm....
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

If you've ever had a real Philly cheesesteak, like Slack's makes, you'll understand Philly's problem. You could probably survive a week at least, off one of them. Go Eagles!

I second Kingcoal's reasoning. Chicago's local cuisine is essentially tailgate food: italian sausage, polish sausage, italian beef, burgers, brats, baby back ribs,... pork products, lots of pork products.

My city may be one of the fattest, but it is still cooler than yours :P 8) .

I don't believe for one second that Columbus, Ohio didn't make the top ten of the fattest cities this year. I think we took numero uno a couple years back and all one has to do is look around to see we probably still have the tittle.

That reminds me of this story,

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]Fat tourists should mean new limits for water taxis
Tuesday, December 21, 2004 Posted: 1435 GMT (2235 HKT)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. safety investigators said Monday they want the Coast Guard to revamp its regulations for calculating passenger weight on private water taxis to reflect heavier American tourists.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut investigators found the average weight of the 25 men, women and children aboard the ill-fated Lady D was 168 pounds , more than 28 pounds per person above the acceptable standard. Most weighed more than 160 pounds and seven weighed 200 pounds or more.
:?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he Federal Aviation Administration recently updated its weight and balance guidelines to more accurately reflect a heavier public. That action followed a crash of a small passenger plane in 2003 that was overloaded.

I know man, it's embarrassing. I, myself, weigh between 230 and 240 lbs (depending on what time of day) with 6% body fat while standing 6'2". I'm considered a big man because I'm over my ideal body weight or I'm overweight if you like, even though I have a 30 inch waist. Most of the overweight people here are considered obese - not above their ideal body weight.

I can see paying for another chair/ticket/whatever because I'm bigger than the average male; however, obese people seem to get a little testy when you try to charge them more for a seat(s)......more of the "I'm always the victim" routine. I used to get really pissed at these people, now I see that when TSHTF these people are going to be the expendable ones. Anorexia and bulimia never existed before the 20th century......you can thank T.V., marketing, and other crap for those two.

Another good quote, "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son".

I think the measurements that pinch your fat are a better indicator of obesity than weight. Some people have thick bones and high muscle mass, which can weigh a lot.
