Everyone,
It's been 40 years since Gilligan's Island premiered on network TV. It can still be seen in reruns today. It was silly. It was funny. It had great acting. Some of the plots were clever.
Now, with so much talk in this forum about a diminishing supply of oil and doom in the future, Gilligan's Island seems like a fantasy. Living in a bamboo hut, riding in a bamboo pedal-powered automobile, fighting headhunters, and spending time with...
1) Gilligan, who would ruin every attempt to get off the island.
2) The Skipper, the lovable leader of the group.
3) Mr. Howell, a multi-millionaire who sleeps with a teddy bear every night and his charming wife Mrs. Howell.
4) Ginger, a tall, beautiful movie star.
5) The Professor, a well-educated man with several college degrees who can solve most problems.
6) Mary Ann, a cute farm girl from Kansas.
It wouldn't surprise me if people are still watching this show 50 years from now.
