$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jsb1969', 'T')hat is precisely why I don't understand their behavior, they couldn't be ignorant of the looming breaking point yet they practially wink and grin about the energy market and it's pleasures. They, in my mind strongly resemble sociopathic criminals.
Oh, but they can be ignorant. On this very board, I constantly see discussions to the effect that ethanol will save the free motoring lifestyle - or, if not that, mile high chimneys in Australia, or South African solar cells, or tidal power, or wind power, or fusion, or hamsters on little wheels, or any of a multiplicity of "solutions".
And then there was the post, about a year ago, that seriously proposed that we send tankers to Jupiter. The tankers would fill up with methane, return to Earth, and all our problems would be solved.
Be assured that the newscasters and the public in general have no idea what is coming. They don't even want to hear about it.
Maybe it's best that way.
