Subject of oil on Fox's Cashin In

Bright smiles discussing 'Will we still be addicted to oil in 50 years?' on Fox's Cashin In. Just vagaries regarding oil and the 'opportunities' in the energy market. My god, how can they smile? Unbelievable.

They don't care about actual oil supplies for the common man. They just want to analyze it from a stockholders view, which stocks are the best for the future, oil, NG, solar, hydro, etc companies. Simple economists.

That is precisely why I don't understand their behavior, they couldn't be ignorant of the looming breaking point yet they practially wink and grin about the energy market and it's pleasures. They, in my mind strongly resemble sociopathic criminals.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jsb1969', 'T')hat is precisely why I don't understand their behavior, they couldn't be ignorant of the looming breaking point yet they practially wink and grin about the energy market and it's pleasures. They, in my mind strongly resemble sociopathic criminals.

Oh, but they can be ignorant. On this very board, I constantly see discussions to the effect that ethanol will save the free motoring lifestyle - or, if not that, mile high chimneys in Australia, or South African solar cells, or tidal power, or wind power, or fusion, or hamsters on little wheels, or any of a multiplicity of "solutions".

And then there was the post, about a year ago, that seriously proposed that we send tankers to Jupiter. The tankers would fill up with methane, return to Earth, and all our problems would be solved.

Be assured that the newscasters and the public in general have no idea what is coming. They don't even want to hear about it.

Maybe it's best that way.

Faux News is a little more biased than others with the market-will-solve-all, no taxes or government intervention needed talk. Talk it is, since while they support smaller government it is ok with them to spend a trillion $US or more to intervene in the Mideast.

This is strictly sone guys sitting around looking at the short term picture only. They have no clue about the future. Did any of them say in 2000 that the market hit a long term high that will not be exceeded for years?
Don't think so.

They said "We need INNOVATION not CONSERVATION"

That's like saying it would be okay to smoke cigarettes if we found a cure for cancer.

"If Environmentalists were in charge of the energy market, we would be back to horses and buggies in 50 years!"

If the people on Fox News were in charge of the Energy Market we would be back to sailboats, because the warming from the CO2 emitted by 6 billion people burning oil, gas, and coal would raise the sea level!

Funny thing is they don't realize it, but thats exactly what we'll be going back to whether we want to or not. That or just plain walking.
