Ban Bali

This Corby thing makes me so upset.

For those of you stuck on the word "Ban", you may replace the word with "Boycott", or "don't go there".

Also, for those who may want to talk about how the media is full of lies and that we should only talk to non verbal creatures if we want to avoid it, you should take a look at the jail cell she's going to:

I don't blame you for being upset. The situation makes me glad I didn't give one thin dime to the tsunami relief efforts. Frankly, I think that the Aussies who are calling for a tourism boycott have the right idea...

I am no friend of druggies, but this smacks of a politically motivated frame-up.

Even if you don't think drugs are ok, I can't understand how people can consider them to be a criminal problem rather than a moral problem. The so called war on drugs here has been a miserable failure and a huge waste of taxpayer money. But it certainly provides wakenhut (prison contracter) with a steady supply of slave labor. And these pricks actually wanted to execute her. Sickening.

The worst part of this thing is that the drugs were not even hers. Nobody brings 9 pounds of pot to Bali. The drugs that are trafficed go the other way. If she was a smoker, there would have been a pipe and a small bag for the few days she planned to go there.

Er, not to step on anyone's xenophobia, but many US states sentence people to equal or greater terms for first marijuana offence. That is how the US ended up with the world's largest prison system, both in total numbers and per capita.

As for the death penalty, the current US president signed 152 death warrants while governor of Texas. Legal experts have asserted that many of those people executed had substandard trials and it is a near certainty that a few were completely innocent.

Note to self: never travel to Indonesia

I have friends who have travelled to Indo for surf trips many times.

There is basically one single simple guiding rule that rises above all when taking a trip to Indo:
Do not even think about bringing marijuana.

The Aussies travel there much more frequently.

This girl apparently had nine pounds (no not a little baggy for here suf trip), but nine f**king pounds! "stashed in her bodyboard bag."

That leaves me with one of two conclusions?

1. This girl has a suicidal death wish
2. The f**kers planted it in her bag
