Of course they are innocent until proven guilty, but San Diego is going financially belly-up and 6 city officials have been charged with conflict of interest. These officials were on the city pension board. They have jobs such as comptroller, auditors, union mucky-mucks, fire captain, police firgerprint experts, human resources directors, etc. They were involved in increasing pension benefits for city workers. They wound up giving themselve big increases in their own benefits. Check out the numbers: the pension monthly increases they voted for themselves were all about 10% resulting in monthy pensions of $9,703, 5,636, 4,016, 7108, 10,862, 5,096. Their pictures are all on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune and they aren't smiling. Now it just so happens that huge pension benefits are a major factor in the financial distress of the city. Now if guilty, what should happen to these greedy yuppies? If I were the judge I would sentence them to ten years picking lettuce under the hot sun in Imperial Valley.
