"Logan's Run"???

Unread postby BastardSquad » Sun 01 May 2005, 12:05:28

One of my favorite sci-fi movies has always been "Logan's Run".While the plot line is interesting,I can't help but be fascinated by the idea that they had created the perfect sustainable system.

Anyone who hasn't seen the movie can go here to get the basic idea-

Now the idea of dieing at the age of 30 is a bit of a turn off(I'd be dead already),but I would think simply having strict population controls could be used instead of an age limit.

This guy claimes we can build a domed city that will produce more energy than it uses-

So my question is,if you had a chance to help build and/or be part of such a society, would you???

Or, more likely, being "fish, proteins, and food from the sea. Fresh as harvest day!"
There'll be war, there'll be peace
But one day all things shall cease
All the iron turned to rust
All the proud men turned to dust
So all things time will mend
So this song will end

Alright, forget the dead at thirty part.Like I said,I'm sure population controls could replace the need for that.

Wouldn't you want to live in a perfect self sustaing system where your primary purpose is pleasure??

And yes,Jenny was sooooooo F@#$%^g HOT!!!

Every guy watching that movie wanted to run off with Jennifer and make babies.

Contained bio-systems are the future. Peak Oil is only one of many problems facing humans. Climate changing natural disasters, environmental damage are only a couple of the many threats. If we humans want to survive long term, we need to be 100% in control of our environment.

This to me seems like the direction we should be headed in.

what a bunch of freaks! i'd rather die of starvation than in some sterile controlled environment surrounded by folk who just sought pleasure all day long. that sounds like a fucking vision of hell. sometimes i despair.

Isn't that the kind of thinking that got us into this mess in the first place.
