A new system would rank pages on their veracity as compared to whatever internet factoid google deems truthy.

By checking pages against that database, and cross-referencing related facts, the research team believes the algorithm could assign each page a truth score. Pages with a high proportion of false claims would be bumped down in the search results.

With the significant quantity of "tin foil hat" threads, the credibility of this site will be hampered so is more likely to go down than up the ratings. But this assumes that the site, rather than the specific PO related pages are checked.
