Go Ted Go! :)

Houston (AP) - With an assault weapon in each hand, rocker and gun rights advocate Ted Nugent urged National Rifle Association members to be "hardcore, radical extremists demanding the right to self defense."

Speaking at the NRA's annual convention Saturday, Nugent said each NRA member should try to enroll 10 new members over the next year and associate only with other members.

"Let's next year sit here and say, 'Holy smokes, the NRA has 40 million members now,'" he said. "No one is allowed at our barbecues unless they are an NRA member. Do that in your life."

Nugent sang and played a guitar painted with red and white stripes for the crowd at Houston's downtown convention center.

He drew the most cheers when he told gun owners they should never give up their right to bear arms and should use their guns to protect themselves if needed.

"Remember the Alamo! Shoot 'em!" he screamed to applause. "To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."

I imagine the likes of you are pushing for legislation banning forks from your society also! Sorry for you that many of us get along just fine in life and don’t need the government taking our forks away! I have a novel idea! Hmm. I could use a little extra ammo...certainly some 7.62 NATO...5.56 NATO...9mm.... .45 cal ... 10 mm ... .380 ... 12 gauge shotgun rounds, especially sabot, flechette, and ferret rounds... more 22 cal is always nice, especially the subsonic variety. Oh, and some subsonic 9 mm. And I could use tracers, those are always expensive. And incendiaries, AP, and Glasers.

All donations cheerfully accepted! 8)

Ted Nugent rocks. \m/

On a side note, I am very glad that I live in the enlightened state of Virginia, where we are allowed to get concealed carry licenses so that we can have handguns on us at all time.

Oh, and I'll take money donations towards ammo too: 30-30, 20 guage, 9mm...

America, fuck yeah.

go away, Ted, go away. just how un-american is it to want to throw out the rule of law? Ted Nugent has very un-american ideals. those of us who defend the right to bear arms on constitutional grounds, stand on far different ground than does mr nutbasket "i'll decide guilt and innocence for everyone" nugent.

Maybe you missed my point.

i was just saying that if there were no more americans the rest of us would be better off because there would be more resources to go around.

i wasn't making a point about gun control, in fact i think americans should be allowed any weapon they want including tactical nuclear weapons.

Normally I would laugh at anyone who thinks the NRA is a great organization and the right to bear arms benefits a society. However if the effects of PO turn out to be really bad then pacifism will be at the back of a lot of peoples minds.

They should be “opposed to the assault weapons ban”, the last thing we need is a bunch of clueless soccer moms getting “assault” weapons banned just because they look scary! I refer too them as clueless wonders because many hunting rifles are much nastier then many “assault” rifles and the only reason they are bitching about them is because they look scary.

Maybe the clueless can get some legislation going to ban propane bottles also since they are capable of doing as much damage as any “assault” weapon.

It's simple arretium. "...SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED."

Webster's Dictionary, 1828:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ') INFRINGE, v.t. infrinj'. [L. infringo; in and frango,to break. See Break.]

1. To break, as contracts; to violate, either positively by contravention, or negatively by non-fulfillment or neglect of performance. A prince or a private person infringes an agreement or covenant by neglecting to perform its conditions, as well as by doing what is stipulated not to be done.

2. To break; to violate; to transgress; to neglect to fulfill or obey; as, to infringe a law.

3. To destroy or hinder; as, to infringe efficacy.

Encarta:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ') in·fringe (past in·fringed, past participle in·fringed, present participle in·fring·ing, 3rd person present singular in·fring·es)

verb

1. transitive verb disobey or disregard something: to fail to obey a law or regulation or observe the terms of an agreement

2. transitive and intransitive verb encroach on somebody’s rights or property: to take over land, rights, privileges, or activities that belong to somebody else, especially in a minor or gradual way;
infringing on our personal freedom

[Mid-16th century. From Latin infringere “to damage,” from frangere “to break” (source of English fracture).]

Anything less is compromise. For example, "hunting or 'legitimate' sporting purposes". Accepting this limitation is a compromise on the part of the NRA. If I can use it to put holes in paper (or any other target), whether .22 caliber holes, .50 caliber holes, or any size hole in between (or larger, for that matter), then it has "a legitimate sporting purpose", regardless of whether I can do it at the rate of one round per minute or one thousand, or whether or not a particular weapon looks "scary" (as BiGG indicates). In short, the whole idea is nothing more than smoke and mirrors designed to give the anti-gun lobby a foot in the door, and it constitutes an INFRINGEMENT. The NRA knows this; they know that ANY "gun control" (apart from that which improves one's aim) is a step towards increasing government tyranny, yet they repeatedly make such concessions, on the grounds that "you have to give a little to get a little". All such an approach does is embolden the grabbers to grab more, and is therefore unacceptable.

Britian has subjects who cant be trusted, small children if you will who must be kept out of the kitchen for fear of hurting themselves.
America has citizens who can be trusted in the kitchen.

I like living as a citizen, not a subject.

On another note, if anything the 2nd really only protects military weapons if you go by intent. In fact, an AR15 or machine gun WOULD be protected, whereas Grandpa's huntin rifle would NOT be protected by the 2nd.
