I'm Heading Out (again)

Unread postby mos6507 » Wed 12 May 2010, 01:25:12

Well folks, it's that time again. The quality of discussion here at peakoil.com has hit another all time low. We've got moon landing hoaxes, discussions on the ecological imperative of preserving the red hair gene, shorty fillabustering for cornucopianism, and planty back on the case full-time with the Rush Limbaugh partisanship. Coming here has been so habitual that I haven't been able to truly realize that it isn't enhancing my understanding of doom anymore. It's been the place I go to in order to not feel alone in my doomerism, but I don't feel like most of the active posters here are part of my inner circle. I really don't feel I belong in this little eccentric coffee klatch going on. I've already connected with a few peakoil.com members outside of the site. Pops, Narz, and Revi especially (who I consider a true brother in arms). I know I'm on good terms with a few other posters, most of which don't even post anymore. If anyone would like to stay in touch, PM me and I'll consider exchanging email addresses or adding you on Facebook.

Well, there goes a PO member that has at least some knowledge of EVs. Yes, the discussion quality has declined dramatically here. I've been lurking, and will resume doing so. I also have a project to finish and those long posts I used to make take too long...

Eventually, interest in this site will resume as the doom begins to make itself known(whether it be somewhat suddenly or over a long period of time), but until then and after, keep preparing.
The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the old growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder. ~Thomas Jefferson

Well this is the 2nd time you are having a exit party,, last time you said you would never be back, but here you are..

Why complain about certain threads here, if you don't like them than read something else, many here included myself visit other sites as well as P.O.

I think you are just posting this like that last time you claimed you were leaving is to try and convince the Mods to chase away the posters and discussions that don't meet your criteria..

P.O. is not just about Doom and Gloom.............

This forum has been open to many ideas and weird behaviour, some users even started a thread announcing their departure couple of times over again, drama queens perhaps. Some of them even started dedicated threads and polluted other topics to channel all U.S. regime critics under the umbrella of "moonhoaxers", "tinfoilers", and immediately hide as chickenhawks from rational debate-argument complaining how this forum degraded. In short good riddance..

You know the difference between an Englishman and a Jew? Beside of the obvious , of course. An Englishman leaves and doesnt say good-bye, and a Jew says good-bye and doesnt leave.

Well I will miss you. I can't find another place I like as well on the web.

I know some of the people on here are whacko, but I like some of the discussions.

I really hate the racism, but I try to avoid responding to any of the bigots.

I have tried the permaculture forums and the Transition forums, but they don't have a critical mass to really discuss anything.

You will always be at war with yourself with irreconcilable ideals, and thus always be in disagreement with your neighbors. Basically, you will always be miserable until you change your world view.

Eastbay, your stogie was rolled by a red haired Cuban with Neanderthal
DNA, and you are smoking some probably on a daily basis.

Part of being a contributor is often the need to be valued,
and this expectation leads to a bunch of entanglement, at
least it has for me.

So drop in from time to time, or stay, and post to please yourself
Mos.

Part of what helps me stay motivated is knowing I am always correct
and still being patient with the rest of you woodpeckers who are off
in the weeds picking daisies...

It was a joke. I suspected not all would get it. If one has to explain a joke it's lost and no longer funny. So, no. I won't explain it.
