New theme song for us Cornies

Unread postby TheAntiDoomer » Thu 29 Oct 2009, 15:40:45

I heard it in the new Geico commercial, very catchy:

Each day's a little better than before, I want more!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=468w2Aqoq6o

Ironically the actor reminds me a lot or Robert Rapier.
"The human ability to innovate out of a jam is profound. That’s why Darwin will always be right, and Malthus will always be wrong.” -K.R. Sridhar

You have really sh*t taste in music, its not the message, the cannon of western music is full of many hopefull and uplifting songs and a few in praise of plenty. But you have just picked an advertising jingle.

This is just one tiny example of what great music sounds like.

(And this is it in only the flat two dimensional sound compressed technology of youtube, in the rich multidimensional sensory orgasm of actualy being in a room when the instruments are being played.................................. vocabulary fails)

I can't think of anything more appropriate.

My offering:

Too much in the truth they say
Keep it 'till another day
Let them have their little game
illusion helps to keep them sane

Let them have their little toys
fast sports cars and motor noise
exciting in their plastic place
frozen food in a concrete maze

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

I'm not sure the 'idiot' home buyers who are getting foreclosed actually conspired with the snake oil salesmen. The former are homeless. The latter have been paid off by you and your fellow citizens. Now, who's the idiot?

Well, perhaps I should reserve my ire for those who were in it as get rich quick specialists, or who didn't check the fine print or their finances before winking at the snake oil salesmen. The poor bastards who got hammered after the first round of meatheads tanked the economy are just collateral damage I suppose.

They aren't homeless, they did the same thing all sorts of people do when things go south, they move in with friends and relatives, they rent. Sure, there is a subgroup in their who went homeless, but that happens to those without a safety net in good times as well as bad. In bad times, there are simply more.

Actually, the fine print reads "Each day's a little better than before*

*contract is voided by acts of god, fire, illness, anthropogenic climate change, falling down stairs, zombie hordes, headaches."

doesn't scan so good tho...
