Are you politicaly active?

Unread postby dorlomin » Mon 03 Aug 2009, 07:56:35

Most people here have strong opinions on a wide range of topics. Are any of you active in democratic politics in some way (with a party, protest group or so on)?

Or are their reasons for not being active?

Sometimes i'm thinking about it but promoting
2 child policy,
lowering pensions by 2/3,
ban unemployment benefits,
remove child care money,
Letting the whole financial system collapse to start a new one,
make it forbidden to hunt,
hang (almost) every president in the past 100 years who are still alive for genocide and treason to the country,
only allow nano tata's on the road and bikes
promoting deglobalisation
boycotting Indonesia for killing the west papua and east timor people
stop making wars

Wouldn't get me a lot of votes :)

But hey that's my hidden agenda, If you wanna get elected you need to say the oposite of what you are thinking

I already have a name for my party "Party of Equilibrium"

Moderately active Republican, though I haven't volunteered or sent anyone any money in a while.

Formerly uninterested. Despise republicrats and demicans. Loathe radical left and right. Dubious about many aspects of libertarianism. Greens have their own wackiness too.

Vehemently anti-stupidity. Totally reality oriented and pragmatic. Uninterested in the "morality" as currently promulgated by the current political "dialogue." I'm interested in solving problems, not how the masses feel about anything.

I don't think there *is* a party for people like me.

Sure there is...

High Lord Executioner ian807 the First, unquestionable, inerrant ruler of all the Earth.

Problem is, there are like a billion or two other people that want the title.

Republican Preceint Committee Officer (PCO) with STRONG libertarian leanings. Support the Fair Tax, and "Audit the Fed" legislation.

Its Pay-to-play. You've got to pay if you want some play---look how great it worked out for the UAW (Obama gave them Chrysler and GM!) and for Goldman Sachs (they got control of the Fed and a continuation of their million dollar bonuses!).

My Platform

90% tax rate for anyone worth over 250,000,000 on their earning per year.
Fair Tax
10% tax increase on imported products
6 years mandatory military service for anyone wanting to become an american citizen.
Companies that move their businesses over seas in order to avoid paying taxes, can not sell products to Americans.
Any company caught hiring illegal aliens, will face a minimum of 6 months in prison. {for the one who hires the illegal, and the owner / ceo of the company}
Marijuana made legal, all citizens in prison on Marijuana charges released immediatly.
Imprisonment of all paparazzi and termination of all newspapers who do nothing but report about what some retarded celebrity is doing at any given moment.
Make online gambling illegal.
Increase the use of the death penality to include people who commit sex crimes.
No vehicle can be sold the gets less than 30mpg in town.

that is good for a starting platform.

Where we are now is Dick Armey's consulting company organizing these bus tour of the thugs with insurance company money and more covering of the "grass roots" action by Fox.

Fox is finally getting it's hands dirty as it gets down to the business of killing Americans.

I'm sorry, do go on with your false equivalence and provide some examples. I always enjoy hearing some urban legends and going to Snopes.

I support a novel idea.

A return to the constitution as it is written and amended. A literal intrepretation that every man with greater than an 8th grade education understands, not the BS these f#cking lawyers try to make it out to be, where they twist words and meanings and say it is a "living" document to be interpreted by a select few. The Constitution is a document where rights are carved in stone and changes made only by consent of the people.

Yeah......I'm a dreamer..............................................

Why so sad little buckeroo, that all you can manage is an "Lol?"

It used to be that the most common word for conservative blogs was "hilarious." Everything was "hilarious," and you couldn't read more than a couple comments without some wingnut calling liberals "hilarious." Now? Not so much.

Somewhat active locally, mildly curious but mostly disinterested nationally. Last time I got involved nationally, besides voting in the election, was to try to help stop that first bailout. Of course, at this point that first one's looking downright quaint.

Anyway, Bush is out of there, that's the last news I really cared about from Washington. After him, almost anyone could look presidential. McCain would have done just as well for me. I was a bit scared of Palin, but Biden's not much of an improvement. I think I'll vote Green party next time, just for fun. In the meantime, what have those idiots down at city hall gotten themselves into this time...?
Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive...
