Depleted Uranium- what it means for the average US draftee

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

It appears that, sometimes, when one brings the light of a outrage to greater awareness, there are those who will rise to the call...for the greater good of humanity.

If you support this bill, call, e-mail, or write to your rep soon.

And spec, since you previously mentioned that the US does have a responsibility at cleanup, and becase you said the health effects were unproven, I'm sure you won't have a problem with this bill, right?

Oils,
I would FULLY support that Bill. Based on currently available data (Data, NOT propoganda) DU does not pose enough of a risk at this time to warrent prohibiting its use.
However, I think we should examine that in greater detail. I know if someone was popping off shells with potentially hazardous metals in my backayrd I'd damn sure wanna know too.

Of course, in the other thread someone said how civilians die doesnt matter. I believe it was Raph, but it may have been Re. So, count on them not supporting the Bill (Even if they could). So dont count on them thinking it a good idea, as it doesnt matter how civilians die in war.

You and I agree that we need better and more complete scientific data, and it is needed quickly to see what we need to do. Cool. Although I do NOT have any doubt whatsoever the military has known for many years exactly what, in what forms, doses, concentrations, etc...

I don't remember anyone, even raph, saying that...but there was a comment in the beginning from Clint Eastwood avator that war was hell...don't think he meant it was ok civies died...

Page 5 of the Slugfest thread. Keep in mind, Raph is the one who accuses me of being uneducated and uncaring, and portrays himself as some highly educated, compassionate individual.
Even though I'm the one that wishes we would track civilian casualties, and Raph thinks it doesnt matter.
So, far as I see it, hes a fucking worthless sham. A hollow image of the man he wants to be, but will never aspire to.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Raphael', '
')So Specop does it really matter how all the people are perishing?

Namaste

I woundnt say even the military knows for certain due to the fact that they've had no real reason to do any studies on long term / civilian exposure effects.

Despite having justified invasion by the line 'freeing the iraqi people' (now that no WMD). Free to die from cancer epidemics? Free to have horrifically deformed children? Can one free dead people? Or is that the kind of freedom the US now admits its bringing to the world?

That the invaders have no interest in the # of dead civilians is a pretty clear indication that this is a war not about peace, freedom or democracy, but .. maybe oil?
Shame too about the forever poisoned GI's, but they don't count either. My fav future includes a couple of very angry recently-returned-from-iraq brigades levelling the whitehouse and hanging every suit inside.

Keep inventing excuses and rationalisations specop, you'll make pro one day. Then you'll get your own national radio show and do your bit to hustle the masses off the cliff.
