Here is mine;

Since there is no competitive opposition to peak oil -when people want there to be- it's real.

<----Start Sentence/---->
Peak Oil already happened to the United States in 1970, and the former USSR had thier peak in 1987; This time, it will happen on a global scale.
<----/End Sentence/---->

Imagine the OPEC oil embargo going on in every single country worldwide, and getting more restrictive each year. Mother Nature is about to impose an oil embargo on every nation in the world, only this time, it will not ease up after a couple months. The oil embargo that will be in effect will have no end. It will simply get worse with each passing year. The projected decline rate is 3%, while currently the world economy is increasing at the rate of 3% also. This means with each passing year, we will be have 6% less oil available per person worldwide The stagflation of the 1970's was only caused by a temporary drop of supplies less than 5%, imagine the effects of a 6% decline in net availability of oil over the course of one year, only compounding on its self with each passing year. The result would be nothing short of complete and utter economic collapse.
Here Lies the United States Of America.

OPEC, which has all the spare production capacity, has agreed to go to 100% production to control oil prices.

Great one, pip. I like that a lot. How true is it that everybody besides OPEC is already operating at maximimum production, though?

BP says there's no problem.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

How about:

When Oil companies are taking out TV ads for the express purpose of developing a positive image, you have to assume that, like the Phillip Morris anti-smoking ads, there's something amiss with the product they are selling; something that could potentially hurt or even kill you.

Military is reaching max capacity occupying country which we had no valid reason to invade other than oil, and the govt. is cutting taxes for the rich and spending as if there's no tomorrow...say, you think they know that in fact there isn't a tomorrow?

Never said it couldn't be a run-on sentence...

maybe this..

"It doesn't make a difference whether the predictions from the EIA, World Bank, Laherre or Campbell are right, because they're all telling us that we're running out of gas and we're not gonna make it to the next petrol station anyway"

or this...

"Sure, we're going to have have plenty of oil,.... ...., in a few hundred million years or so."

Guest, I’m not sure your post was deleted intentionally…

Usually we post an explaination.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Mine:

"Oil is in finite supply, its only a matter of time..."

or

"12% of all asians are now allergic to polyester."

Whichever you like, both are convincing.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Aaron', 'B')P - Beyond Petroleum

That's my favorite! When a big oil company starts using this byline you know the end of petroleum is coming.
"Modern Agriculture is the use of land to convert petroleum into food."
-- Albert Bartlett

"It will be a dark time. But for those who survive, I suspect it will be rather exciting."

Why dont we make a survey with those sentences and do vote?

Oh, and I thought BP - beyond petroleum meant somekind of superfuel that would make oil obsolete. *sigh*, live and learn I guess...
