Taqqiyah-"concealing one's beliefs"

Unread postby AlexdeLarge » Sun 07 Sep 2008, 21:55:45

What is Taqqiyah?

The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be "Dissimulation."[1] But it may be clearer to call it lying. Taqiyyah is uttering with the tongue what one does not believe in the heart.[2] Many Sunnis deny that it is an Islamic practice, but Shi’ites dispute this by arguing that it is integral to Islam. According to one Shi’ite source: Taqqiyah

what ever he really thinks of himself is truly a mystery...

by Muslim law however, he is a Muslim. (goes by the father)

His mother seemed to have a thing for non-Arab Muslim men...and one wonders why.

Obama appears to have had a classic Freudian slip.

"A Freudian slip, or parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is believed to be caused by the unconscious mind.
Some errors, such as a man accidentally calling his wife by the name of his mistress, seem to represent relatively clear cases of Freudian slips.

Obama said he was a Muslim. Why in Allah's name would Obama say that unless his subconscious mind made him say it? 8)

in Harry Potter it's called 'Occlumency'

but there it's described not as lying, but as concealing one's thoughts and emotions from another, like hiding your cards in a game of poker.

Obama's biological father is 7/8's Arab and only 1/8 black African. Obama is not technically a "black American" but a white-arab American.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pedalling_faster', 'i')n Harry Potter it's called 'Occlumency' but there it's described not as lying, but as concealing one's thoughts and emotions from another, like hiding your cards in a game of poker.

Interesting. Wikipedia says:
"The key to good Occlumency, as described by J. K. Rowling, is to be capable of hiding or suppressing one's emotions. This is why Snape and Dumbledore are accomplished Occlumens, because they are able to hide what they are truly feeling, and Draco, like his parents, is able to suppress his emotions. Harry had trouble mastering Occlumency because he embraced his emotions. Maturing allowed him to control them."

This suggests there is hope that Obama will be able to master Occlumency as he matures, just as Harry Potter did.

I guess Americans are just too narrow minded and xenophobic to realize that Islam is a Religion of Peace! Maybe Islam just needs to hire a better PR firm ! You got to be able to spin these things. Here is an idea! Blame Bush !!!! LOL

Gee he was VERY dark skinned for being 7/8 "arab"

Yup Obama's father looks "Mighty WHITE"! Notice Obama who is at (at least ) half "white meat" look like you would expect when you have some admixure of genes.

Keep in mind folks in that part of the world don't want to be African...they want to be Arab...it's the difference between master and slave in their eyes based on the history of the region.

Here are some REAL ARABS for you :

Why would an Arab King dress up like Captain Kirk? Do they raise tribbles in Jordan?

"King Abdullah has many interests. He is known to be adventurous and has a love and passion for sky diving, rally racing, and scuba diving. He actively promotes tourism in Jordan, and was the guide for the documentary by the travel channel in Jordan.

The king is also an acknowledged fan of the science fiction saga Star Trek. In 1995, while he was still a Prince, he appeared in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Investigations".[22]"

How thoughtful !! I doubt the warden will let me out for a such a nice trip...... but I will ask! Perhaps you could write me a note? But who would give me my medications??? I'm not very pleasant without my meds! :(

You have brought a smile to my face today! If my keepers will not concede to my release, please apply those funds to something useful. A donation to Mr. Obama's campaign? He could use the help and you will go away knowing you have done some good in the world! Cheers!!! XOXOXO

Well then, I like the King Of Jordan! And evidently he's is not a big fan of hatred and warfare, either, though well trained in Military matters. Long Live The King! The World needs more like him.

Back to the topic of al-Taqiyya, I'm listening to a radio show called 'Religion Report' and they've just aired an interview from a documentary maker. He did a documentary on the principle of al-Taqiyya. They went to a mosque in England that advertises their openness to the community and the principles of tolerance to other's beliefs. They give tours to church and tourist groups. The Beeb group took their cameras in and filmed several groups' tours and did interviews then left, but they left bugs behind in the ladies study rooms to hear the conversations and teachings held there after the infidels leave.

Well, apparently what was said among themselves was totally opposite of all their claims to the media and government. Lots of hate for the infidels' lifestyles, lots of advocations for violence and plans to islamise English society were heard and recorded and reported in the documentary. So basically you can't take anything they say as truth or even what they believe is truth, cause they are under no obligation to tell us infidels anything true, not even the government of the country they've decided to live in.

The islamic community were not impressed and went to the police, who confiscated all film and recordings for analysis, then charged the BBC group. BBC sued the police and won. The link to the recording of the show or a transcript should be up tomorrow if you want to source the original here.

edited to correct linkipoo ... sorry.

wow, what a mess! some bad stuff going down there real soon. What is a Religious War when only one side is Religious? Medieval European Christians kicked Muslim ass. Stopped them cold and eventually colonialized their asses. Then they lost their faith and destroyed themselves in internecine suicidal wars. History is strange.
