TROLL VOTE 2008

Unread postby jasonraymondson » Wed 13 Aug 2008, 17:12:32

It is time for the first annual troll vote campaign pitch.

As peakoilers it is your duty to vote for the one troll who stands above all others.

In this regard, this first thread will be about nominating others and or yourself to be voted on for this November’s election.

If you think you had what it takes to be the Peak Oil Troll of 2008 then let us know and announce your candidacy today.

Good Luck.

My fellow Peak Oilers, good evening. As if that's possible.

We are a divided people, but let us celebrate what we have in common. We don't all worship the same god. Some of us do not believe in a god at all. But the good news is that, thanks to Peak oil, we all now believe in the Apocalypse. "

I know your going to be approached by a lot of qualified indivudals jocking for this coveted position, many who are overly qualified and deserving, but as the man the most deserving of all the other candidates for this position, I promise a chicken in every pot, and a hybrid in every garage if you vote me for TROLL.

Don't waste your votes on the less deserving, vote for a man who has been banned from these forums more times than anyone else, vote for a man who has the most "quality" threads banished to the hall of flames.

Vote Jasonraymondson for Troll

A name you shouldn't trust.

My name is Jason Raymondson and I approve this message.

Nah we aren't. It's just a matter of timing.

The Doomers AND the Cornucopians are both right.
Everything will be sunshine and lollipops - right after TEOTWAWKI.

The Inflators and Deflators are both right.
We're going to deflate real quick after hyperinflation stops.

The Mystics and the Atheists (must be a better term for this but it eludes me) are both right.
Something big is bound to happen due to this hydrocarbon depletion thingy, all the signs are there.

The Hippies and the Gunfreaks are both right.
Intentionable sustainable communities are likely to work out after a good cleansing sponsored by Smith & Wesson.

The Yurters and the Spideyholers are both right.
The yurters will have something to eat for a bit before they need to find a hole of their own.

The Technogeeks and the Permaculturalists are both right.
Gotta make hay while the sun is shining.

The Boomers and the Xers are both right.
There's too many Boomers and Xers have no respect for hypocrisy.

The Euros and the North Americans are both right.
They'll soon be overwhelmed by the very energy and infrastructure that was the world's envy.

Did I miss anybody? Jews/Muslims? Blacks/WASPs? Rural/Urban? North/South? Hill people/Valley people?
Feel free to addend.

The rest of your post, of course, was complete nonsense as per usual. Keep up the good work.

I'm not sure I'd say you are an experienced troll, but you seem to have good troll judgment and are enthusiastic. I'd put up one of your yard signs and be a supporter. Screw that PMS guy, he's such a flip-flopper.

I think Jay ray son is a decent troll, respectful yet trollish to enough degree to keep things entertaining.

Good feelings for others, no cheap shots, but willingly ignorant when it really counts, and blustering when it is needed.

An honor to have such a wonderful troll here on peak oil. Use him or loose him.

Couldn't ask for a better troll, he has my vote.

Dino sez I'm a flip-flopper. Fair enough, so jay can be both the village idiot and the resident troll. Fine with me.

The Jester can't be Troll too.

Besides, nominating yourself is an automatic disqualification. Trolls never nominate themselves, they always deny. It's a Tenet of Trolldom.

Don't get the people against you, jrm. MD makes a good point but mondson is trying to be a different kind of troll. A change-troll maybe. The troll traditionalists and insiders feel threatened.

I see that golem posted in this thread, and although I don't know what he wrote because I have him on ignore, if he nominated himself for the troll award, I second.

To all of my supporters you have my appreciation, and I promise you that I will do my best to represent these boards in an honest trollish manner if elected. To those that have your doubts, I point that even though my main opponent right now is a right good candidate for this position and that I have nothing but respect for him. I do not believe him to be the right choice for peakoil.com. A troll should know when to back off and when to press forward. I good troll should know the difference between the word ewe and you, and a good troll should have at least 1 - 3 marbles left in his head. I promise you, that I have about three marbles still rolling around.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')i]A special note to MD, while I know it is hard to let go of the past and preconceived notions of what exactly it means to be a troll, I would like to point out that following the party lines these past years has lead to great disappointment, sometimes we have to look past what we know and learn to change. peakoil.com is heading towards a dark corner in our history and while I may not be the type of candidate that you are use to, isn't it time to try something new before our entire infrastructure comes crashing down?

A vote for me, is a vote for peaceful anarchy.

Something bless you, everyone

Remember to get your nominations in. Only three days for nominations left. Also, please don't let the thought of me leaving the forums for 9 weeks to kill myself in basic training weigh your decision in anyway.
Sure I only have 6 days of freedom left and this means a lot to me, I am sure that you will make the right decision for you and yours.
Heck you know, I may only have 5 months left before I am shipped off to Iraq to have a IED blow off my legs and leave me permanently disabled for the rest of my life, you know, no big deal.

My vote can be bought.

Note that I have some weight within my domain and can bring the entire faction to the side that pays the largest bribe, er I mean shows the greatest honor.

So many to choose from! And I can only nominate ONE???

Guess I'll have to go with Oilfinder2. He is consistently annoying to an otherwise doomerish group.
