I heard of the doughnut shop robbery a few days ago:
The county sherrif department units responded, the State Highway patrol units responded and the City police department units responded.
Do not ever rob a doughnut shop! You'll never get away with it.

Locally called "coffee money" Wise to allways keep a couple of small denomination bills in your top pocket - just in case the local cop is thirsty !!!

The traffic police are good in Bangkok, at least to tourists. Last time I was there, after waiting several minutes in severe heat to cross eight lanes (!) of traffic, a cop came along and waving his machine gun at vehicles in both directions helped us across. Good man!
