Really - is PO.com the destination or beginning journey to other blogs deeper down the rabbit hole?

For me it has taken me much further down the rabbit hole...

I am not so sure I will be able to find myself back where I started...not that I would want to be "there" again.

What say ye? What blogs has PO.com led you to that you did not know about before joining this community?

The answer to your query, NO. Just because there are a few blog like posts on the front page, a blog this place is not. This is a community, based around forum software.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Shannymara', 'I') became aware of the overall dismal ecological situation and certain formerly unthinkable political things as an offshoot of learning about peak oil, but for me it's all one huge rabbit hole, not a gateway to something else. I actually started posting here because I needed some camaraderie and empathy when I was going through my initial "red pill" freak out. I credit Heinberg for giving me the red pill, Savinar for potentiating it, but the white rabbit/gateway that led me here was learning about industrial food production. Pardon the mixed Alice/Matrix metaphors, please.

I came here and stayed because I found the ideas and people interesting and challenging.

Peak oil is sort of like a mental Everlasting Gobstopper, except it tastes like ass and you can't get it out of your mouth.

But stubborn and inquisitive minds like mine can't let go of it, so I continue soaking up the information and ideas and trying to make useful contributions for the possible benefit of others.

I think it's just an interesting cavern in the underground maze of rabbit holes.

The fact that it's focused on peal oil is not the sum of it by any means, though. For me, it's sort of like "the world is not as it seems, and peak oil is just one example."

PO.com is just a rest stop along the motorway of insanity for me. Its gone something like this:

Climate Change(Before it was 'cool' ) -> Ecological Issues -> Survivalism(Not the nutty american kind) -> Overpopulation -> Peak Oil -> All things Doooooom!

I don't discount the Illuminati, UFOs and all of the above, I've spoke to a good many people who claim 'they' are raising oil prices to destroy society and enslave everyone. May be true, but difficult to verify and likely to get you killed if it is, besides preparing for PO will help you survive those problems too.
