$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tavington', 'W')e need to be reminded that in order to function in a free society that we need to obey the rules so that everything can function in an orderly fashion.
and this statement is exactly why there is no such thing as a "free society". more rules = less freedom.
listen to any libertarian. they advocate fundamental structure changes in order to reduce to the power of "society" in order to bolster "freedom".
i have no problem with cameras at the mall, toco bell, gas stations, basically away from my property. its when the government advocates "mandatory surveillance" at my expense on my property i have a BIG problem. Ashcroft pushed that... and its sick. it says something about your government.
if your smart, you can counter "private" surveillance such as cookies on your internet browser or shielding your license plate from gas station cameras.
i have seen very little surveillance footage used in the court system used to catch criminals, they have no money, the state doesn’t care about them. i have witnessed surveillance being used to punish generally law abiding citizens with money in order to maintain a power structure as well as a revenue stream over them.
yea i don't trust anyone, especially behemoth corporations or the government. i'm proud of it too. i can watch my own back, i don't need "big brother" to do it for me. I’ve come to believe, after much research and thinking, decentralized power is the only solution in maintaining a “free(er) societyâ€
