My boyfriend who I have been dating is Jewish. He doesn't attend a temple or anything, but by definition, because his mother is jewish, that makes him as well. Anyways his brother Dave has decided to move to israel and teach there. He's not exactly orthodox yet he is very into the Jewish community. My boyfriend is clearly against it and thinks he is dumb to move there because of the mandatory military service and not a safe place really. How should we convince him not to go?

I don't have a sister nor would my boyfirend and I wouldn't consider moving there. I am not Jewish either nor do I practice a religion of any kind.

Drayor I am not antisemitic at all. If I was I clearly wouldn't be dating a Jewish person. I am also offended that you would assume that. In my mind every person has a right to believe whatever they choose and I would not judge them for it.

Apparently when the Jewish state was created, many Rabbis were against dividing the country and respected there Muslim neighbors. They pointed out that a Jewish state should not be formed until the Messiah returns. Does anyone know if that is accurate?
