I noticed alot of people doing preparations/stockpiles are looking for cheap raw supplies.

I reposted this reply as a new topic to avoid going off topic. I noticed that in my area i can purchase very large quantities (100kg plus) of raw food products at very cheap prices. Products like salt, rice, sugar, seafood, fruits etc.

This is not my job or business to sell this kind of thing I'm a university lecturer at a local university in Thailand. i just shop for my food in the same places as the factories and restaurants do. so i know its good stuff and very cheap.

An example below from another topic is:

If anyone would like large quantities of raw clean salt i can purchase it for between 10 and 30 baht (USD$0.30 to USD$1) per 5kg to 10kg bags lower price for huge quantity's. This salt contains no iodine. But can be used for cooking and canning.

This salt comes from the maeklong area of central Thailand and is obtained direct from the low income salt farmers.

If your interested you will need to pay for transport of it to the US by sea is the cheapest. If a number of you can purchase together then its possiable to put it all in one 40 foot container and send it direct from maeklong to US via klong toei port in Bangkok. The price of this I'm not sure on or even if raw salt can be imported into the USA free of taxes and import controls.

Rice of many different kinds can be obtained cheaply in this area too. not sure of excate prices as i rarely purchase it. but its under 60 to 100 baht USD$2 to $3 for 10 kg lower for huge amounts.

If people are interested please check if the US ports and customs will accept the shipments of salt and rice etc. the shipments will be ex klong toei Bangkok Thailand.

this was just an offer to help some people out with supplies of food etc for the stockpiles etc.

I live close to areas where alot of food products are processed and also alot of export items are made or part of them are made. so what i can get here will be much cheaper than from any shop in the USA.

anyway i was just going to do it to help out as i cannot do much preparations in the form of stockpiles myself due to limited storage space in my home.
