The “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act” HR 1955, will create a commission tasked with identifying 'extremist' people, groups, and ideas.
Already there is a shift in the media from the term 'terrorist' to 'extremist'.
On 60 minutes during the Musharraf interview he corrected the interviewer's use of the term 'terrorists' saying they were pursuing 'extremists'.
Since political dissenters, civil libertarians, and critics of the Bush Administration are also being refered to as 'extremists' that makes all dissenters 'terrorists' under the new Bush lexicon.
Most important to bloggers, the bill specifically mentions the internet and is intended to squash dissent and contrarian views here. In other words, it is directed specifically at us.
